WARNING: Intense paranoia fuel below. In fact, I had an actual panic attack reading this, even if it's old news.

Authors who start dramas over poor reception of their works aren't new, but that someone would go to this length over a bad review astounds me

This is where I'd like to ask tech-aware boarders: is it possible for an author to see a commenter's IP address on the Pit, Wattpad or AO3? Because if it is, then I fear for humanity.

If it helps, this is the first I can remember hearing of something like this in 20 years as a PPCer. Most people don't have the time, money, or sheer twistedness to actually hunt someone down for the sake of words, however negative. {= /
