That's a second official success for me (I have no idea what happened in 2021, I wrote 50,000 words in November but it seems to have not registered as a success. Oh well)

30 days - 50,000 words. No plot? No problem!
Yes, it's NaNo season again, the time of year when you, yes YOU, can write a whole novel in a single month! I mean... you can do that any time if you're mad enough, but in November everyone else is doing it too, so there's peer pressure and stuff. So who's in?
I have once again thrown caution to the wind and signed up. This will be my ninth NaNo since 2009 (I do it roughly every couple of years). Three of the previous ones have been lost to Google, so this time I'm backing it up. My title game is as terrible as ever, so I will be flinging words recklessly onto the pages of "Chrono Crew: Journey to the Centre of Ennor".
Day One went well, I'm at 1880 words (you need to average 1667 per day to hit 50k). If you're taking part, look me up as Huinesoron and we can eye up each other's wordcounts jealously through the month.

As the website was delighted to tell me, this was my ninth NaNo win. Am... am I old? :O
I've never written a story which so clearly told me about its second draft. I have character notes, plot notes, and a full outline for the second version of the book - a very different outline, I'm moving stuff around massively. NaNo was probably good for this one, because it forced me to keep writing the plot I was in; if I hadn't been chasing 50K I'd probably have kept revising what was already there and never finishing it.

OK, I technically hit 25,000 words in the early hours of this morning after falling just shy of doing it one day early but "Whoa, we're fifty-three percent of the way there" just doesn't have the same ring to it.
I've been finding (like last year) the hour-long mixes from Blue Turtle on Youtube have been helping me massively with focusing on my writing (and breaking my writing down into hour long chunks so I don't get too tired from doing it). Who knows, it might help someone else as well.

I've changed the title of my novel twice so far (we're currently Buried Paths: Heart of Ennor), juggled several characters' surnames about, and spent FAR too much time looking up archaeological trivia for the Isles of Scilly.
For anyone British, Buried Paths is a very strong homage to Time Time. Most of my character names are not puns (on that, at least), but I couldn't resist making the presenter Robyn Tennyson. ^_^

I finally finished last year after something like seven previous attempts (only four were really serious, but still) and I aim to keep that momentum going!
This year's project is a little scifi romp I've been describing as a platonic love story. It's all about space chases, astrophysics mysteries, and the power of optimism and sincerity. Presently titled Between the Clouds and the Stars, we'll see if it sticks.
Progress thus far hasn't been ideal. Only six hundred words of which about half were mostly written from earlier in the year, but I often start a bit slow. I'll make it up. I can be found on site as Badger421 (unsurprisingly) if anyone wants to help hold me to that. XD
also hi yes I'm still here. Life's just been batting me around like a tennis ball the last couple years and I haven't really had the energy for this sort of community interaction
Dusted off an account I abandoned two years ago to get to work! Granted, Real Life is also pretty busy, so I'm setting relatively low standards (10000 words for now) just so it doesn't feel overwhelming.
Probably just going to work on some of the dozen PPC-based WIP's I have floating around. Those, and some original fiction I've had cached as jumbled brain-shapes since my high school years, because might as well try to give them form for once.
so I guess I'm continuing that. I will say year 5 of Heirs of Avalon is well past 50k--the year is split into parts and each part so far has been about 50k and I'm on part 3. This sort of stuff is definitely something you've got to build endurance for!!

Yep, I'm doing it again for the fourth year running (and hoping for this to be my third successful attempt). I'm still working with the same formula that I've found to work previously, which means instead of focusing on writing 50,000 words for one story I'm aiming to average 10,000 words each for five stories. As with last year these are 4 fanfics and 1 original fic (and there is some worldbuilding stuff for something else I might do on the side, it's not really a story so I'm not counting it towards my total but it's writing I'm aiming to get done in November). The Five 'Fics are:

For the Crusade!: Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous Fanfic
Rift Walker: Grim Dawn/Dragon Age Inquisition Fanfic
Remnants of the Old Republic: Star Wars The Old Republic/Star Wars The Clone Wars Fanfic
Sabre Storm: Original SciFi fic.
Day One saw 1,975 words written for Raised to Rule so happy with how that's started off. I can be found on NaNoWriMo as Novastorme (unsurprisingly) if you want to watch the inevitable train wreck.

P.S yeah, sorry for letting the prompts run out and generally not being around, it's a long story but I've been busy with some other (non-serious writing/creative) stuff.
This year my lifestyle is actually somewhat conducive to this, so I'm going to do... something! Dunno if I'll go so far as to get on the website, but I'm committed to spending less time on streaming sites and more time with writing docs open on my laptop, anyway.
