I've reached the halfway point in reading the OS, and have been pleasantly surprised by how entertaining it is. I have also gained newfound appreciations for the "Contrasting characters dynamic" (as clearly seen in the interactions between Jay and Acacia), and Tolkien. It's taking me longer than I expected to read through it; I have been quite busy lately, but reading it has always been worth the time. For those here who have read it (I'm assuming most of you have), I would like to ask what thoughts and impressions* on it are. (Please, no spoilers past Mission 13 if possible.)

*I don't know if I used that word right, but never mind.

I'm really glad you're enjoying it. It's been part of the background of my life for so long it's hard to put anything into words, but you might be interested in reading Huinesoron's "PPC+20" threads from a couple years ago, where he was re-posting some of the earliest PPC stories on the anniversary of their publication (or as close as we can guess). There were some interesting discussions in those.

I'd love to read any additional thoughts you have, too. (Post them in this thread, though; we won't see replies on anything that's fallen off the front page.)
