I’m not quite sure what to put here. I’ve been a reader for a while and decided to finally gather up the courage to say hi. I sometimes write, mostly a mix of fanfiction and short stories. “Okenia” is from the scientific name for a sea slug, if anyone’s wondering.

Fandoms: Mostly Buffy or The X-Files, Legend of Zelda, a few audio fiction podcasts. I liked Rhysdux's missions. Everything I've written pretty much languishes either in google docs or my notebooks. What is the policy on beta'ing or reporting badfic without Permission? I've looked around the FAQs, but I'm not sure.

It makes me happy to see Rhysdux's work getting some love! If you haven't found the Buffy and Angel Fanfiction University yet, you should definitely read that, too. (Wiki page with chapter index here.) I wish I'd been a BtVS fan soon enough to appreciate it when it was being written. Alas, I was a latecomer to the fandom.
I was into The X-Files back in the day. I had a crush on Mulder, insomuch as I wanted him to have hugs, be taken seriously, and be happy, haha.
Linstar already answered your question, so yeah. Broadly speaking, Permission is only required for publishing stuff that would be considered canon in-universe.

I have google docs problems too.
You don't need Permission to beta or report badfics at all. Both of those things just require some interest.
