Hi all! Newbie here :) You guys have got a lot of cool stuff around here! I've always liked writing and have even written some hopefully-not-bad fic in my day. I like comedy, fantasy, and sci-fi, so this seems right up my alley.
edit: whoops didn't mean to press enter so soon lol
Nice to see a new name around here! Hope you enjoy your time here, we don't bite haha
Read any cool stuff here so far?
Always nice to meet someone who thinks our stuff is cool. ^_^ Feel free to share your writing, favorite fandoms, how you found out about us, favorite spin-off(s)/agent(s), what pronouns we should use for you, and anything else that would help us get to know you (without doxxing yourself, of course!).
Also, have some fresh Canon Cookies. These are classic chocolate chip.
~Neshomeh (she/her)
Oh yay prompts! My mind always gets stuck on what I should share about myself (icebreakers are actually my favorite, that's my unpopular opinion). First off, I use she/her pronouns and if ShootForTheMoon is too long, abbreviations or other shortenings are perfectly fine with me. I haven't published my writing anywhere online in a while--I think most of it got spat into the void when the sites/communities I wrote on were deleted or otherwise went down (a tragedy). Mostly I like sci-fi and fantasy fandoms, which is how I started following sporking/MSTing communities on LJ (back in the day) and DW. Nostalgia for all of that brought me here through the power of the various links on the internet, I read the originals, loved 'em, and here I am! If you have recs for spin-offs/agents I'm happy to hear them LOL there's a lot to look into.
Cookies are good! Baking is scary o.O
In fact, I have a prepared list of recs for exactly these situations. {= D I should probably consider updating it at some point, but it'll do for now.
Normally I'd argue that baking isn't scary, since all you have to do is follow the rules, but in the PPC rules have a tendency to get bent for the sake of humor, sooo... ^_~
~Neshomeh
It's not a standard mission-heavy spinoff, but it captured the setting's tone and spirit perfectly through the lens of an overworked band of misfit janitors. I'll go ahead and pop the links to what I could find of them here for easy access.
Flaming Broomsticks, a five-part sequence
It's a shame it's one of the few (relatively) recent spinoffs with zero Wiki organization. Might get around to that at some point.
Might I suggest my MSTing community, the Asylum Riffs? It's a lot of fun, and we've had contributions from a fair number of PPCers.
As far as spin-offs go... OrangeFox has some good stuff. And I'd recommend anything by Huinesoron, too (though that's quite a lot).
