"Cauterize" was so lovely and tragic... wow. I love these sorts of stories, the explorations of just what happened after the series ended. It doesn't hurt that it's beautifully written, either.
Thanks for bringing this to attention; not only is it an incredible story to read, it's really, really nice to be reminded that there is not only goodfic but amazing fic out there.
So, I was browsing the Harry Potter section out of some sense of masochism when I found this little gem. It's a very good story, but you'll need to keep a box or two of tissues handy.
It's called Cauterize, and takes place some time after the Last Battle. It covers a large number of the characters, but Dennis Creevey is the centerpiece. It's...very sad, but good. Makes the trawling through HP worth it.
And something a little less sad, but no less good: The Ultimate Escape Artist. Harry becomes an escape artist, and causes Dumbledore a great number of headaches. Requires no tissues, and is really funny.
I like both of them.
