...for my Middle-earth themed Sherlock AU fic.
I'd like someone with substantial knowledge of Tolkien, Conan Doyle, and the BBC!Sherlock canons so they can see if what I'm working with can conceivably fit into the LotR canon. The time frame is post-Hobbit, pre-LotR, and the Sherlock characters have names adapted to Middle-earth.
I'm not finished with "A Study in Mithril" just yet, but if you're interested I will send the draft over as soon as I'm done.

WOT? As in Wheel of Time? I am somewhat knowledgeable of the series, having read most of it a while back. Perhaps I can help.
Yes Wheel of time. Thank you for responding.
Well, my mail is desdendelle AT gmail DOT com. Feel free to send me a .doc (if you want me to just go over it and point stuff out) or a link to a Googledoc (if you want me to tell you things by its chat as I read it).
PS: Since I'm using LibreOffice, I'm also fine with .odt or whatever, though the formatting might somewhat mess itself up in that case.
This sounds like a really intriguing concept for a crossover. I'd love to help you out any way I can, but I completely understand if you prefer to work with someone more established in the community.
(From your description, I'm guessing that this doesn't take place within the universe of the PPC. If it does, I'm not going to be of much use. I just landed here yesterday.)
With that said, I do know a HELL of a lot about Sherlock (I've read all of the novels and short stories, plus watched all of the BBC adaptations) and an above-average amount about LotR (though I'm sure you'll find people far more knowledgeable about it in this community.)
Best of luck on your project!
Lily could have two betas, one with Sherlock knowledge (e.g. you) and another with lots of knowledge on LotR, then cross-reference them.
I consider myself pretty well-read in ACD and BBC Sherlock, but I guess it couldn't help to cross-reference indeed. So now all I need is someone who knows Tolkien very well (or at least better than me, since I've been consulting the Encyclopaedia of Arda for a majority of this fic.)
Which BBC Sherlock are you referring to? I know BBC has done MANY Sherlocks in the past, but the new adaptation set in the 21st century is the only one I've watched recently, and the one I assume you're referring to when you talk about "BBC Sherlock."
Also, is Watson a dwarf?
And actually no. Watson is a hobbit, Sherlock is an Elf, Lestrade is one of the Dunedain.
Sounds good! My email is allcapsman@gmail.com.
