and it seems that those that replied made really good points. That said, I wonder why it's still up.

I just ran across it today: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Protectors-of-the-Plot-Continuum-PPC/148909888470443
Apparently the site was created in 2010. It currently has only 45 likes. I think that it would be a good idea to get it really active.
I'll just refer you to the post where somebody randomly turned up and announced they'd made it without asking first, and you can see the lukewarm response for yourself.

That is, I assume we don't, because as far as I know the person who created the page is the only person who can take it down or do anything else to it, and I wouldn't know how to get in touch with them at this point.
That's another reason I'm personally uncomfortable with it, for the record. If we were going to have an active Facebook page, I'd want several people to have admin powers to deal with any trolling/spam/other problems that might come up, and so we wouldn't lose control if any one person vanished. (I still probably wouldn't join it myself, though.)

If the person saw the error of his/her ways, then (s)he could have at least introduced him/herself and taken down the page.
