It was also not helped by you ignoring the posts on the board until after you were forcibly stopped.

I'm wondering if it's a problem to make several small edits, such as adding things to categories, very quickly on several different pages. I haven't been around long enough to know whether or not it's frowned upon, so...
It's not a problem as such, and I'm sure you're just trying to be helpful, but I'd personally advise you to slow down a bit. In the past we've had new people arrive and flood the wiki with edits, to the point where the people who generally mind it wound up very cross from chasing them, and in extreme cases had to bap people with banhammers.
Giant, squeaky banhammers.
:P
So yeah, I don't see any harm in editing here and there, as long as you stick to the Wiki Editing Rules which I think Neshomeh left lying around somewhere. Just don't go charging in altering everything.
That had been a problem at the far reaches of my mind for a while. And yeah, I got banhammered by July for supposedly making SPaG errors, which I probably did, but whatever.

I had not been checking the board frequently(Indeed, at all) and thus didn't notice until the ban. Which was, by the way, totally justifiable.
As is the current ban you and Neshomeh have given me, in regards to my blog post. I really didn't mean to come off as intimidating or rude to the people I was referring to, but after re-reading it I really did sound like it. I think a good course of action would just be to delete it, or unban me long enough to do so and then re-ban for as long as the transgression deserves.
I'm screwing up an awful lot on this site. Should I just call it quits?
We don't want you to call it quits. We DO want you to slow down, pay attention to what people are telling you, and think before you post. Being enthusiastic is fine, but if we can't turn our backs for 24 hours without a zillion edits riddled with SPaG errors popping up (and there are errors, we're not making this up), that is a problem. It's an even bigger problem when you use our space to post a screed against someone else's religion, which is 100% against our Constitution.
For that reason, we've decided to extend this second ban to two weeks. Please take the time to think about whether you can follow the rules and conduct yourself with respect toward others.
July and I, and plenty of others, would be happy to talk with you if you have questions or need help with anything. Just slow down and make time to take advantage of the opportunity.
~Neshomeh
I know I deserve this, and trust me, I am not happy about what I did, in hindsight. Of course i'm angry and bitter, but I'm only mad at myself, and the bitterness mostly comes from my subconscience, not the thinking, rationalizing portion of my brain. And I'll be back, and I promise that I will take the vacation from editing and use it to do exactly what you suggested; to improve.
I guess I'll see you guys in a couple weeks. So long.

A ban from the Wiki is not the same as a ban from the 'Board. You are perfectly welcome - nay, encouraged - to stick around here, and prove to the community at large that you are not a jerk, nor the kind of person who prefers ignorance to knowledge. I should note, as this seems to be a common misconception, that the Posting Board does not exist to serve the Wiki. The Wiki is a resource for us, not our purpose and driving goal - think of it as a side-project that you've been asked to leave alone, not a solo mission that's been terminated.
This isn't a simple group of information-gatherers or badfic-reporters here; it's a community of writers-in-arms, and - as noted in the oldbies thread far down, we all started out by making stupid mistakes. Running away is not the answer.
Take the vacation from editing, yes - but don't leave. You can still read the Wiki to poke through information, and engage in conversation both on the 'Board and the IRC - please do so, in fact. It will not sit well if you are banned from the Wiki for poor behavior, run off until the ban expires, and then return. The point of a ban isn't exactly punishment, it's to slow things down enough for communication to take place - so sticking around to talk about How To Wiki and How To PPC is a good thing.
Anyway, good luck, and I hope to see you around the 'Board.
Okay, i'll stick around here. I was planning on lurking anyways, and I was also planning on reading as many articles as I could, as well as missions, so I could be better. I'll stay around, then, and thanks for not thinking I've made a total, unredeemable ass of myself.
