Question for you guys: are you consistent? Do you have a set and concrete philosophy when it comes to writing and reviewing, and do you stick to it? Do you believe what you say--I mean *really*?

Wow. That sounded kind of aggressive, which isn't exactly the way I meant for it to come out. It's just that today, my answers to those questions are no, no, no, and no.

Today, I went to make a Pit (ff dot net) account. I already have one. Why? Well, the one I have right now is inconsistent. It has tons of crap and a few things which are workable. Using it, I've written some pretty helpful reviews and some reviews that would be worth sparking if only they were long enough. I've supported ships both realistic and ridiculous. So, while making this new account, I thought, "well, maybe I'll make another account to be serious on, one that I can be proud of".

And stopped.

Because, really, I've got enough trouble fighting compartmentalization and identity changing in Real Life. I don't need two Interwebs personas. They should both just be me.

Thing is, I'm all over the place. Some days I'm dedicated and full of build-this-fandom excitement... other days I'm brain dead and want the written equivalent of greasy popcorn that brings out greasy popcorn, cheap Hollywood movie emotions or entertainment.

So now I'm wondering how you guys handle these things. I know there's specific PPC policy on "publishing" (putting online, whatever you want to call it), and that is that if you put it up, it's fair game; people should be able to ruthlessly critique it, and if it's anything less than really, really good, that's your fault and no-one else's. But in all honesty, some of my stuff is not the kind of work I'm proud of (whether that's because I've never actually been completely proud of anything I've written since probably third grade or because I'm just not very good at this and haven't actually put enough effort in remains to be seen).
