I'm a recent discoverer of the community. And I find it, frankly, awesome. As a newcomer I'd like to introduce myself.
I am a medical student from Mexico. I have been learning English almost since Kindergarten, but since it's not my native language some mistakes might pop up from time to time.
My hobbies are reading, watching anime and sleeping. Yes, really.
Anyways, nice to meet you. And.. uh... That's it, I guess. Hello to everyone!

I am currently most interested in neurology and psychiatry. I find the human brain a fascinating subject of study. It is very complex and many of its functions are still a mystery to science.

Welcome to the board! Have an anime pie. I'm not sure whether it's safe to eat, though. Anyway, nice to meet ya!
Pie! Don't worry about those things. We have a saying that goes: It it's not hairy and moving, it's safe to eat.
Besides, I'm on the seafood diet. (I see food, I eat it)
I absolutely love reading. My favorite books are on the fantasy genre (Artemis Fowl, His Dark Materials), but I don't limit myself to it. My favorite fandoms, literature wise and besides the materials above mentioned, are the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter ones. I have been able to find wonderful fics there.
With anime I tend to prefer the short series. My favorite is Full Metal Alchemist, it was the first anime I watched and, given I'm sort of a sentimental sap, it's special to me. I'm currently into One Piece, thanks to my roommates influence (and it took her a long time to convince me to watch it) and I'm finding it entertaining. Other anime I'm currently watching is Jormungand. I highly recommend it, but it might not be for everyone.
And I love video games, rpgs specially.
You wouldn't happen to be a Touhou fan would you? I only ask because I met one on the internet who went by the name of Vivi and was from a country that I don't remember in Central/South America, and also wrote fanfiction.
My knowledge of Touhou is very, very limited. So I don't think I'm the same Vivi you met.
Please leave your shoes and sanity at the door for the cleanliness of the community. On a completely unrelated topic, have a "Tongue of Many Tongues"*. It speaks most languages mostly fluently, so feel free to consult it if you have any translation issues. Also, what are your fandoms?

I can read/watch anything as long as it keeps me entertained. And has enough logic for me to suspend my disbelief willingly.
The only exception to that is sports manga. I always find them hilarious, no matter how exaggerated they are.

I wish I could have sleeping as a hobby. Work and theatre leave little time for such indulgences.
