You'll never be an agent. You'll always stay a boarder, but if you're good enough, you'll get Permission and be allowed to write about agents. :)

You'll never be an agent. You'll always stay a boarder, but if you're good enough, you'll get Permission and be allowed to write about agents. :)
Okay, when I read fanfiction, I like to listen to music. ...actually, I like to listen to music anyway, but that's beside the point.
Recently, I've been running out of good music to listen to. Youtube may be my friend when it comes to music, but it in no way helps me learn of cool bands to listen to.
So I was wondering... 'What music do the other boarders like to listen to?'
I know many agents end up listening to music when they need to block out sound or distract themselves... but what music?
So, anyway... I'm more or less looking for the best music ever~
I'll add my own, but yeah, we should share the amazing music, see what music everyone else listen to, you know?
And I'll start by saying the (IMO) obvious answers of Led Zeppelin and The Beatles!
The Beatles are just awesome, althoughg my current favourite Beatles song is Yesterday, and I grew up listening to Led Zeppeling all the time, especially Thank You and Stairway to Heaven...
Some other good bands I can think of are Sixx A.M. and Bloc Party, too... ^^
So enough of my favourite music~ Let's see what everyone else likes~
HIMU WANTS YOU TO FUEL HER MUSIC ADDICTION!
~Himu~
The Myst soundtracks are good. Enter Spire in particular is awesome.
I have yet to hear a John Williams soundtrack that wasn't superb. If you read a fic about Twilight Sparkle and Shining Armor, I'd recommend "Luke and Leia".
Oh, and the Lord of the Rings soundtrack is excellent, as are the Doctor Who soundtracks (classic and new).
Heather Dale, hands down. And anyone who knows me could have seen that coming a mile off - Crashing Down is named after one of her songs, after all. If you're at all interested in Celtic-Folk-whatever, Heather Dale is the person to go to. (And it doesn't hurt that she's a lovely person in person, either)
Other than Heather (I know, gaspshock, I have more than one taste in music), I've always been a big fan of Queen, and have sort of extended that into David Bowie by some sort of cosmic osmosis. ... oh, and Jonathan Coulton, of course, who seems to have perfected some art or other, but I'm not quite sure what... still, Skullcrusher Mountain is the first one of his I was introduced to (by a PPCer, no less), and remains a favourite.
See? Musics! Many musics! I am a rounded personality!
hS, with totally diverse interests honest
I'd never heard of Heather Dale before deciding to check her out on your recommendation, and now I'm a fan too.
You got any other artists that I might never have heard of before?
I'm not an agent yet, but here are a few recommendations. Lindsey Stirling has some really good techno/violin music, and journey and Kansas are good 80's music. Owl city, The civil wars, Simon and Garfunkel, Train, the script, survivor, foriener, evanessence, within temptation, Regina Spektor, and Kate Nash. Most of these are pretty common, but I like them. You should give them a try.
You'll never be an agent. You'll always stay a boarder, but if you're good enough, you'll get Permission and be allowed to write about agents. :)
That's fine. I don't really want to be a boarder either now, so I doubt that I could ever be an agent.
Considering that agents are, y'know. Fictional. We are, however, all boarders. Pretty much anyone who posts here for any length of time is considered a boarder.
We're rough around the edges, and we (or at least I) do actually expect people to read, but we're not intentionally trying to run you off, for the record.
Ever hear of Two Steps from Hell? They do this great orchestral-type music, mainly for movies. Speaking of which, composers like Zach Hemesy and John Williams have some pretty good stuff too..
...some excellent French artists? I'd suggest listening to the band "Les Trois Accords" (try their Youri and Grand Champion International de Course. Just know that their music videos have absolutely nothing to do with what they're singing about), Edith Piaf (her Amants d'un jour is particularly beautiful), and anything by Alain Bashung.
Basically anything in which the characters die.
And recently I've got into Abney Park. Yay for steampunk!
Well, I'd recommend a lot of things. The Protomen, Powerglove, The Raconteurs, HammerFall, Neil Young, Iron Maiden, and Rush.
Here's some awesome to start off with: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQEgZNqa8jE&list=FLjy6SNIx675ppG4oLX1nSA&index=15&feature=plppvideo
Hehe, I got y'favourites~ ^^ *sticks them on to listen to*
And yes, Iron Maiden are amazing. ^^
deadmau5, Maroon 5, Angelspit, Goldfrapp, Sneaker Pimps, IAMX, Garbage, Florence + the Machine, Skrillex, Apparat, Lady Gaga, Shiv-R, Yeah Yeah Yeahs... I have a lot of favourite bands.
However, I'll give you a few songs to get you started.
Angelspit- "Defibrillator"
deadmau5- "Strobe"
IAMX- "My Secret Friend"
Yeah Yeah Yeahs- "Zero"
Shiv-R- "Pharmaceutical Grade"
Give them a try.
I have to say, those songs are awesome!
I love them... *goes to try and get them on my iPod*
I think I went through as many by Angelspit as I could find, haha~ They seriously are amazing...
...any good ones from deadmau5... and Yeah Yeah Yeahs...?
...which is funny, because I country skipped and went shopping in England yesterday, and there was this amazing music shop that had a whole pile of CDs by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and I was like "OMIGODDESS THIS SHOP IS AWESOME!"
But I didn't have enough money to buy them... *pouts*
OK, first thing about Angelspit: Don't watch the video for Toxic Girl unless you like horror movies with added sex. That aside, try anything you can. The best from each album are, IMO, Scars and Stripes, Lust Worthy, As It Is In Heaven, and Defibrillator. As for the others, try Nurse Grenade, Twenty6hundred, and Like It? Lick It!
deadmau5: 8bit, Edit Your Friends, One Trick Pony, Ghosts 'n' Stuff, Sofi Needs a Ladder, Arguru, Slip, Professional Griefers, Raise Your Weapon.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs: Gold Lion, Heads Will Roll, Modern Romance/Poor Song, Dragon Queen, Man, Maps, Cold Light.
:) Have fun! I'm always around if you want more... God, that sounds suggestive... *shakes head at own perverseness*
Ah, that's okay, I tend to prefer the lyrics videos anyway, because they'll have less of the long beginnings/endings that aren't actual music. ^^
And... So many songs~ 8D It's like heaven without the sheep! *dances*
...ohonhon... You aren't the only one who saw that in a sexual way... I blame... THE FRENCH! Darn frogs... ((No offence to the French, I really blame Hetalia))
Hope you enjoy the songs! *releases sheep at you*
I just blame my mind. :)
OK!
The Birthday Massacre- Under The Stairs, Blue, Happy Birthday, Play Dead, Kill the Lights, To Die For (either version's fine), Weekend, Looking Glass, Always, Pale, Two Hearts, In The Dark, Forever.
Goldfrapp- Human, Utopia, Crystalline Green, Strict Machine, Slippage, Number 1, You Never Know, Ooh La La, A&E, Some People, Road to Somewhere, Alive, Rocket.
IAMX- Kiss and Swallow, Heatwave, Missile, Song of Imaginary Beings, Lulled By Numbers, This Will Make You Love Again, My Secret Friend, Nature of Inviting, Running, Into Asylum, Fire and Whispers, Avalanches.
That should keep you occupied for a while. Mwahahahaha. *releases plague of musical sheep*
I listen to video game soundtracks, like those from Super Robot Wars and/or Touhou Project.
Other than that, I like Queen and JAM Project.
...Queen~ :3 *hums Bohemian Rhapsody*
Video game soundtracks~ ^^ They're almost always good... Even back when they were beeps~
I mean, Duck Tales - The Moon, anyone?
But seriously... some game music... is just awesome~ ^^
Everywhere You Go is an awesome song from the SRW OG Soundtrack.
That is pretty cool~
I feel compelled to mention VVVVVV - Positive Force.
I have no clue what the game is, but it really is amazing. I can blame TV Tropes' 'Awesome Music/Video Games' page for it~
I get most of awesome music from Tvtropes.
Lots of people.
Ah, I see.
Everything from Dvorak and Saint-Saens to Nightwish, Taylor Swift, and Owl City. Ooh! Beethoven, too. And sometimes just for fun I listen to the different versions of "Marukaite Chikyuu" and "Hatafutte Parade".
But movie music is pretty badass too. "Mind Heist" by Zack Hemsey and "Unstoppable" by E.S. Posthumus are so awesome that if you play them while watching/listening to anything, that anything will automatically become badass.
...who likes everything~
Seriously, people hear me listening to my Eurodance and my Nightcore, then get surprised when they borrow (read: steal) my iPod and find the Goregrind and Classical music. ^^'
And... another Hetalia fan~ *dances*
'Songs that are so badass they make everything badass when listened to' should be, like, a genre or something.
Then I'd be able to find it more easily, haha~
...is your favorite?
Me, I like England and Chibitalia's Marukaites best, and Turkey, America, and England's Hattafuttes.
I like Holy Rome, China, America, and Chibitalia's Marukaites, and both Italies' Hatafuttes. Also I like Russia's everything. Oh! And Sweden's Hatafutte. He has one of those awesomely deep voices.
Holy Rome's Marukaite is so awesome... in general.
But I, unfortunately, can't listen to anything America sings (or even most of what he just says) without my ears bleeding~ ^^'
Maybe it's because I'm British?
...Swwweeeedddeeeen voooiiicceeee...
So deep and amazing. >7
To be fair, the rapping and guitar are kind of annoying, so I usually skip through those parts.
...annoying America~ But then again, his VA is also Canada, and Canada's voice is okay... ^^'
I've often said that Canada's basically a male bipedal Fluttershy (he even has a snarky white animal sidekick). His voice is just... oh God, so moe. I wish he had his own versions of Hatafutte Parade and Marukaite Chikyuu.
...MALE BIPEDAL FLUTTERSHY!
MLP:FiM FTW.
But yeah, he really should... I wanna hear a Marukaite/Hattefutte by that VA that doesn't burst my eardrums!
I shall excuse your self-pluggage for two reasons.
ONE! That. Is. AWESOME!
AND TWO! I can now stalk you on deviantArt~ ^^
Holy Rome looks and sounds JUST like my little brother did when he was that age. :3 It's so cute.
Ohhh, I *like* America's voice! (America = TOTALLY NOT one of my LO's I SWEAR)
Heh. Sweden kinda scares me.
My little sister looks like a mini Belarus with curls. She even has the glare down perfectly. To be honest it's a little creepy sometimes. Also, I love listening to the character songs. My favorites are Pub and Go, Buona Tomato, and whatever Russia's is called (Light Up My Heart maybe?). I like Sweden because he doesn't mean to be scary and he's confused as to why everyone is afraid of him.
*pats your face* Kindred spirit...
Though it's kind of hard to tell with me, considering that I keep abusing him in my fics.
They call me 'England' for a reason. Large eyebrows, loud mouth, fondness for tea, America, and Doctor Who...
...Awww~ That's adorable~ ...mine just looks and acts like Estonia. ._.
Ah, depends which... his dubbed voice is kinda... iffy, but his Japanese one just makes my ears bleed... Or maybe it's the huge amounts of Engrish? In Iggy's songs, there's less of it, so... ^^'
Aw, Sweden's one of my faves, 'cause I kinda feel sorry for him a little, 'cause he scares everyone off...
Pubba-pubba-pubba-to-GO! xD *dies laughing*
I like his Japanese voice, it's his American voice that makes mine bleed. x3 I like the Engrish, it makes me laugh.
Ehhhh... I guess. He's just... not my type? XD I dunno. Part of it is that I don't really like any of the Nordics because they kidnapped England when he was a baby and they were not nice to him- *cuts off long history-majorish-fangirl rant*
*rolls on the floor and laughs so hard no noise comes out and I look like a retarded seal* *eventually stops laughing for long enough to revive you with a spare Phoenix Down, then goes straight back to laughing*
...The Engrish... it burns! *acts like CDi Ganon*
Hehe, true, true... but then again, I like all of the characters for one reason or another, and if kidnapping/fighting/injuring England was a reason to dislike them, I wouldn't like most of them, haha~
But there's a reason to feel sorry for most of the characters, if you think about it... England has no friends (sadly), America is under a lot of pressure due to being the 'HERO!' all the time, Russia is also pretty lonely, Sealand is never acknowledged as a country, Sweden scares everyone off, Romano feels like he's always being compared to Veneziano... The list goes on and on! ^^'
*is alive again* Yay! :D
I like Engrish, it makes me laugh.
Heh, true that. England has no friends. Except occasionally America and Scotland, but even they... XDDDDD And yeah. I feel sorry for all the canon characters. Now, fanon!Russia needs to go die in a very deep hole, but...
*dances* Hurrah for life!
Some Engrish makes me laugh, but overdosing on it is almost as deadly to me as caffeine withdrawal. ^^'
Oh, but he has his unicorns and faeries and pixies and other magical creatures! ^^ And ghosts/spirits if you want to include them too~
Fanon!Russia DEFINITELY needs to die.
But unfortunately for me... I have a friend who RPs Russia, and he makes him very fanon!Russia, rather than canon!Russia... :|
Life is good. Life is very good.
Hehe. See, it just makes me die laughing and then listen to more. XD
Ohhh, yes. And flying mintbunnies. And evil, flying spearmintbunnies. XD
Yes, yes he does. >_> I'll admit, I've indulged in fanon!Russia... but this is because my friend was playing a supremely annoying Sue!Ireland, and the combination of Suefluence and my brain being fried meant he totally lost it. He was bitterly, bitterly sorry afterwards.
Then again, my England has beaten up a fanon!Russia before, and nearly killed him. XD It involved Pirate!Iggy, a helicopter, America getting hurt, a bunch of stolen, German flesh-eating bacteria, Moscow, a bunch of death threats, and a duel to the death.
...especially when I have Minstrels! *eats the delicious chocolatey treats*
Hm... those Fluffy Mint Bunnies from IAHF are quite evil too...
I guess... fanon!Russia would be a good method of disposing of Sue!Nation-tans? Or not... considering fanon!Russia might be a possessed!canon!Russia... Hm.
That sounds like a very, very interesting story. *grins* Tell me over a cup of tea?
And so they ate the minstrels, and there was much rejoicing.
Hehehehe... Hehehe.
Maybe. 2P!Russia- or 2P!ANYONE- might work, they're fan-works but they're not possessed versions of canon.
...We need to start making lists of ways to kill off Hetalia!Sues. A lot of them are nations, so you have to nuke them into the ground to do anything... :P
Oh, sure! Be forewarned, it's long and rambling.
And thus the land was filled with goodness and everyone lived happily ever after.
Or atleast, until the 'Sues came.
But that, my children is a different story, which is easily found on this very Board.
The End.
(XD)
...very true.
2P!England~! *squeals* I don't care what he puts in those cupcakes, I'd still eat them~ ^^
...I feel somewhat sorry for the countries that have hundreds of 'Sue-tans made for them...
But yes, we require lists!
...I'm good with it, I mean, I am the very definiton of long and rambling...
...
...however, maybe over FanFiction?
I think this is getting long enough on the Board as it is... ^^'
Taylor Swift is one of those artists that cause people to give me odds looks when I say I like her, apparently cos of the amount of metal I listen to - I never really understood the whole 'I listen to certain genres of music so therefore I can't enjoy others' mentality that some people have.
I agree with your comments about movie music, particulalry 'Unstoppable'
...why do people assume we can only like one kind of music?
People get so... amazed at the sheer amount of music genres I like.
Because it is all of them. I have yet to find a genre I don't like.
Because 'Justin Bieber' is apparently not a genre.
(No offence to any Beliebers out there - Please don't kill me.)
One of my guilty pleasures is DragonForce. I don't care if it's wrong.
Although a lot of it can get a little dull quickly, as I do find their stuff to be quite 'samey'.
I tend to be all over the spectrum when listening to music. Recently I've been really into Vocaloid songs, but those don't stick to a single style or genre. Other than that my favorite bands would probably be The Fray, OneRepublic, and Five for Fighting.
I love power metal and symphonic metal (Nightwish, Kamelot, Sonata Arctica, Apocalyptica, Lordi, and the first half of the stuff Irish Samurai just mentioned), and have a strange addiction to metal remixes of Touhou music (e.g., http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8B4JfbnqSGw). I also like Celtic (like the aforementioned Blackmore's Night or, um, more Touhou remixes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Q9geGcGVBk) and a lot of game soundtracks (Castlevaniaaa... Umineko no Naku Koro Ni and anything written by Yoko Kanno or Yuki Kajiura.
So you like Touhou music in general, then~ :3
Metal is awesome... Especially symphonic metal~
And of course, game soundtracks can be so amazing it's unbelievable~
How could I forget them!?
On the subject of power metal, I should have mentioned Blind Guardian and Dragonforce. Also, Godsmack and Lacuna Coil (both of which are some other sub-genre of metal, possible gothic metal?)
And as for metal remixes, one of my personal favourites is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLo02AquUCs
(A metal version of Boney M's 'Rasputin' from the 70s)
Dragonforce is a lot of fun, but I get a little tired of how similar so many of their songs sound and consequently prefer them in small doses. ;)
I have fairly eclectic (read: random) tastes in music, although I do mostly consider myself a metalhead.
Stuff I'm enjoying at the minute includes; Metallica, Iron Maiden, Nightwish, Van Canto (deserving a special mention for inventing [to the best of my knowledge] the sub-genre of a cappella metal), Hammerfall, Lordi, Dragonforce, Led Zep, Meatloaf, Santana, Dire Straits, Queen, Pendulum, Turisas, and I have recently developed a fondness for 'nightcore' remixes thanks to youtube.
I'm the same! I mean, my taste in music ranges from Classical all the way through to Goregrind~ ^^
...I LOVE YOU FOREVER!
You have the most awesome taste in music ever~
So much I listen to... and Pendulum!
PENDULUM!
...Propane Nightmares is so cool~ :3
And someone else on here also mentioned Nightcore... They really are awesome remixes~ ^^
Yeah, Propane Nightmare is a pretty cool track, although my favourite (and the one that got me into them as a band) is still Watercolour.
As for Nightcore, I find it to be the same as fanfic; there's a lot out there, made by a lot of different people with... differeing levels of ability.
Definitely~ :B
And yeah... I can suddenly imagine a group like the PPC, but for music, destroying bad remixes and the like. XD
In a storywise way, I mean. Would it work as a PPC department? Narrative songs wouldn't be too bad - a folk tune set to (bad) heavy metal, for instance, could be visualised as a shiny lead version of the setting of the original - but what about non-narrative tunes? And even then - what would the target be? To hunt down the offending musician inside? That's flaming and personal attack. To re-sing the song into a good shape? That could be interesting - I wouldn't want to write it, but someone with a musical brain could probably pull it off. Maybe to locate pivotal points in the constantly-looping 'tale' and plant sound-switchers there (and I can see agents getting lost in fractured remixes, unable to find a chorus...)
It might work. Hmm. Dunno.
hS, like that
Maybe, I don't know though... it was more just a random thought caused by sugar rush, but...
It would be ridiculously hard to do... :|
Almost certainly AU, too... Music Department, Reclamation Division.
I certainly wasn't expecting this to happen... but it works! Ahaha~
Such terrible puns... but still interesting... and it makes a good brainteaser to try and guess the song, too~ ^^
Actually, the music I listen to can be roughly divided into three categories: Celtic, Classic, and soundtracks.
So, um, a sample from each, I guess.
The Celtic sample is Darkness by Blackmore's Night.
The Classic sample is... {insert dramatic drums here} BWV 1052! (Yeah, there's a lot of Bach to choose from; this is my favourite concerto, together with BWV 1056)
The soundtrack sample is Yuuki no Imi (The Meaning of Courage, that is) from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS's soundtrack. Which is pure awesome.
You can find all of them in YouTube.
Nice to see I'm not the only fan of Celtic music~ Blackmore's Night... I must... HEAR ALL THE SONGS!
Classic! *sends you a 'you are awesome' sheep*
And of course, soundtracks~ Why must they (almost) always be so awesome? ;7;
Haha~ So many people, so many different tastes in music, but I love 'em all~ ^^
Ooh, sheep.
-Puts the sheep on his shelf, next to the T. Rex, the orca, the Knight and Bob-
Anyhow, just going to rattle off a crapton of stuff I like:
-The Birthday Massacre
-Sleater-Kinney
-Annie
-The "Nightmare Before Christmas" soundtrack (shut up)
-Ladyhawke (I highly reccomend her if you like Bloc Party)
-Pretty much anything dubstep/really good nightcore (surprisingly, this does exist, i.e. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eg3WlMhpdGk)
Now, let's get Youtube-ing all this stuff~ ^^
*fifteen minutes later*
You officially have awesome taste in music~ ^^
I do not judge for the 'Nightmare Before Christmas' soundtrack. That film is awesome and so are the songs.
...*jawdrop* Nightcore. IT'S CALLED NIGHTCORE!
I knew I liked that genre but I didn't know what it was called... NOW I CAN FIND MORE OF IT!
Thank you so much~
*snuggles my sheep*
Aww, thanks. All my friends are like "LOL WHY ARE YOU LISTENING TO GOTH STUFF YOU'RE NOT GOTH" and then I go "ONLY BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY FOR COOL CLOTHES" and then they tell me to stop using caps lock, it's bad for your soul.
Agreed. I sort of like the Marilyn Manson version of This is Halloween better (I know, blasphemy) because the best AMV I have ever seen in my entire life is set to it. I know all the lyrics by heart now because of this AMV.
Yeah, just be careful about the nightcore, since a lot of people just speed the songs up a lot (guilty as charged, but to be fair, I didn't know what good nightcore was back then).
*laughs* Well, my friends all used to think I was really innocent, for some reason, and were all surprised by the sheer amount of goregrind on my iPod when they borrowed (read: stole) it... ^^' It's like they all expected me to just like classical or something~ ...even though I do like classical too. :B
...BLASPHEMY! Oh wait, you have a good reason. Booh, I wanted to get in some practice with my crossbow... guess I'll have to save it for 'Sues.
Ugh, I hate it when people just speed songs up... what's the point? I have friends who still think Nightcore is just sped-up music because they've only heard bad nightcore... :|
I'm mostly a ska, techno, and rap guy myself. Thus, my recommendations are Adam WarRock (who raps about comic books and Firefly), MicTheMicrophone (who raps about MLP), Reel Big Fish (Awesome ska band), Pain (Awesome geeky ska band. Think They Might Be Giants, only ska), and the entirety of this channel.
I also have a fondness for Rockleetist, who does awesome English dubs of Vocaloid songs.
Natually, all of this can be found on youtube.
Okay~ I like rap and techno too~ (Although I quite honestly like most things)
And ska is another of those genres I'll have a few songs of and like, but won't know the name of the genre... SO now that I know it's 'ska', I can find more of it~
Oh, but do you have a link for some by Pain? It's kinda hard to find music on Youtube if you have only one word to search by... or maybe even just a song title would help too~
And Dubbed Vocaloid~ ^^ *dances*
Derision, by Pain, which is one of my favorites. Also, they did the Jabberjaw bit from Cartoon Network Groovies.
I was just going to post this same thread, mate. o.O
Okay. Here's my short-list, in no particular order...
a-ha, the Smiths, the Cure, Sting and the Police, the Clash, the Sex Pistols, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Annie Lennox/Eurythmics, Vitamin String Quartet, Gregorian, Muse, Coldplay, the Beatles, and assorted video game/movie music. (The Myst soundtrack is lovely.)
Oh, and JulyFlame recently got me hooked on Voltaire. ^^
...I knew it! You are most definitely me!
Why must everyone be me? oAo
A-HA! I love them~ The Sex Pistols, Coldplay, you have it ALL there~ I love you forever~ Have...
...a Golden Gilbird Award for Supreme Awesomeness!
It comes in regular, bacon and 'super awesome chocolate oreo delicious angel pure win delight'! And it's edible!
And yes... quite a lot of video game and movie music is awesome. If you look at my iPod...
...I was going to say 'a large amount is vgm/movie music' but I just remembered how much stuff is actually on that iPod.
I have everything on there. Seriously. Classical, goregrind, nightcore, video game music, rock and roll, rap, R&B, JPop... It's insane! Like me! 8D
Flippin' awesome! Everyone is awesome, that's why!
Y-you like a-ha? :'D And heck to the yes! *punches the air and starts eating the award*
Hehehe... Nicely done. Mine is the same way. ...What's goregrind? And nightcore? *is stupid*
J-Poppu, huh? You like Vocaloid, I'm guessing?
...:B That means you think I'm awesome~ ^^
Of course! I am British, after all. Although that doesn't mean that you have to be British or that all British people like them.
Everyone should like a-ha. They are amazing, and I will refuse to believe otherwise.
Nightcore is dancey music, quite often a remix of a song, which has a fast beat, is always high-pitched and just sounds happy in general. It's sort of derived from trance, but calling it trance will probably get you shot.
Goregrind is... well, if I just say that the first song that comes to mind is called 'Anal Destruction by a band called 'Abörted Hitler Cöck', uh, can you guess what kind of music they do?
Surprisingly, it isn't offensive.
And if you can't, try listening to that song. (It's surprisingly good for a song where you can't tell what they're saying.)
Yuppers~ Vocaloid rules~ Although I do often wonder why Megurine Luka has so many songs that aren't Japanese...
Yeah, you ARE awesome!
Heh. No one here even knows who they are. I love all their albums, "Scoundrel Days" and "Lifelines" are the best.
Ohhhhhhh. I see. I sort of like that, I guess. I tend to like music for the lyrics.
...Ehhh, I'm staying AWAY from goregrind. XD
You and me both, friend. I dunno, Miku is always gonna be my favorite vocaloid. [You gotta have blue hair!]
Awww~ You too~ :3
...I must bring you to the beautiful land of Wales.
WE HAVE A-HA FANS HERE!
I like music for both the lyrics and the music itself... It's whyI like everything, because it isn't the style I care about, it's usually the words. :B
...*giggles* Good plan, it tends to deafen you.
Miku is awesome~ The Dissapearance of Hatsune Miku... is so awesome. It got me into Vocaloid.
And I like Oliver too. :3 He reminds me of Sealand but doesn't at the same time~
Hehehe... You're awesomer.
DUDE. NO way. I always have to explain it to other Alfredians as 'You know, that band that did Take On Me? They grew up and made cool stuff'.
Eh, same here. It tends to bother my friends, I can make playlists that whiplash from happy!Hetalia to creepysad!Silent Hill, no worries.
Heh. Well... rock is my thing, metal is not. :3
The one that got ME into it was 1922. :) I like Miku and the Kagamines best, as long as they're not shipped. [Cest is NOT my thing, I have three little brothers and so I find the thought of it kinda squicky.]
...No, you are. I'm more sucky~ ^^
...*laughs* 'Alfredians'... should be an actual real life term for Americans. ^^
It's fun to freak my mates out by playing a playlist full of JPop and then not even flinching when it suddenly plays Screamo. ^^ I remember I did that once and they all almost crapped themselves... it was hilarious~
...Have a pet rock, then~ XD *hands you a small rock*
Aww... you won't like me then, with my Britcest and my NorIce... XD
Although I should get squicked out by 'cest pairings, if they're Hetalia, I can make excuses. XD
I'm suckier!
Heh. It is in my book. :3
I do the same thing. XD Only with fifties music and punk rock.
Ehhh...
Oh, right! I can second the recommendation for Voltaire. In fact, if you watched the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy back in the day, you almost certainly heard his music. Dude is really good, and tends to be really funny. Doesn't hurt that he's also just kind of an awesome person.
It looks really good, but I've never seen it.
Voltaire is kind of just... awesome. There's no other word for it. Sarcastic, ironic, hilarious... and steampunk. Don't forget steampunk.
He's actually really not. Steampunk that is. And he will fight you about it. He is firmly rooted in the goth subculture. Admittedly, almost tongue in cheek, but still.
And not the stupid "My Immortal" goffs, but old school 80s evolved out of post-punk goths.
Seeing goth culture misrepresented is sort of one of my buttons, sorry. Incidentally, more people need to read "The goth Bible: A Compendium for the Darkly Inclined" by Nancy Kilpatrick. Aside from being sort of awesome, it's a good look into goth culture in all its forms for people on the outside and/or fringes.
Oh Harvest Goddess, I loved that show! *smiles* those were the days... So many TV shows suck these days... ^^'
