...Was that, at times they didn't communicate things clearly enough. For example, if I hadn't read the book, I wouldn't have known that Katniss didn't genuinely love Peeta at that point.
That said, I did love the film.
As many of you know, the Hunger Games movie came out yesterday, and was met with much enthusiasm. This excitement will most definitely result in a fanfic explosion of epic proportions. We at the PPC should prepare ourselves for the inevitable badfic as best we can. Good luck to all agents working in this continuum.
Oh, Celestia. Remind me to apply for my Permit. You'll be needing as many experts on the canon as you can get. We're all doomed...
Even Tamora Pierce has quite trauma-inducing fics...and it's not as if she has giant releases, either!

As far as I'm concerned, there was too much bad fanfiction in that fandom to begin with. Now. . . *shudder* I'm especially scared, because the advertisers are trying to pass off the hunger games as the next Twilight, so we may see an influx of those fans.
Oh well. The only thing we can do is prepare for the oncoming rush and hope that the movie attracted as many good writers as bad ones.
The movie was awesome though. One of the best book to movie adaptations I've ever seen.
Y'know, because nothing can possibly beat Twilight for unfortunate implications, horrible characters, and bad love stories.
Ah, well. At least those fangirls will be getting a taste of what a good female character is like.
What you said. It's actually a pretty good book, but I think I'll pass on the movie.
I haven't reread the books yet. I know basically what should and should not happen, but... I am not prepared for this. I am so not prepared for this.
I totally forgot about how the badfic explodes in times like this! That being said, besides my inner fanboy whining at some points it was a really enjoyable movie :)
I've got a ton of fics I need to get through, between the recent fanfic explosion brought on by the rage over ME3's ending and over things I've had in the works for a while, but when the fanfic explosion for Hunger Games starts, you better believe I'll be there.
(Also, I'm planning on seeing the movie tonight. I'll post here again when I've seen it to let you all know how it was.)

That said, I did love the film.
It did go along with the book much more than I expected *having flashbacks to the Percy Jackson movie*. The only things that bothered me was that they didn't include Madge, and that they didn't fully explain her background story. However, seeing as it was a two and a half hour movie I think they just sacrificed the details for the sake of time. Plus, there were some little added bits that I liked
"Caesar, do I smell like roses?"
Or at least world-building that was rather logical was one of the faults of the books, so that didn't bother me so much. Characterization being sacrificed for time was annoying, but understanding.
Was really looking forward to a bit more in-depth for Haymitch and Cinna, thought that is probably just me being nit-picky. The fact the mutts at the end weren't the same as the book did the same.
Ick. I made my bunker a month ago, and soon I'll have to restock it with Hobbit stuff. I read the books, but have not seen the movie. Though, if I find something bad for both versions, I may do missions in there.
