Me and a couple of engineering geeks made a trebuchet. Just so we're clear, this is not a "cute" balsa wood affair- the pivot is five feet off the ground, the arm is ten feet in length, and the sling is an additional three. The weight box is designed to hold ~375 pounds. However, we have a bit of a problem. We can't decide what to name the damn thing. Any suggestions?
Trebu-Che Guevara? Or possibly the 'Pumpkin Acceleration Device,' or P.A.D.
Can you link to pictures at some point? Do you have chosen targets?
For a name-- it was the name of a battering ram, not a catapult or trebuchet, but Grond is the only named siege weapon in the Siege of Gondor.
Thank you! I hope to get pics up soon, maybe at the test launch next weekend. The as-of-yet-unnamed-thing is for shooting pumpkins on Halloween, and whatever else is available other times of the year. As for targets- nothing definite yet. I think we're just gonna clear the range and chuck stuff for a good while before we can calibrate this thing to even hit the broad side of a barn.
Maybe Terry-buchet?
or Big Mary?
Nex.

adopted!
Little Sally.
Oh, I don't have a reason. I just think it'd be fun.
It sounds good! I can say it while twitching my eye, which is an added bonus. (nm)
puns appreciated, but not required.
