Just poking my head in to say hello there. *waves* I used to hang around the Board a lot, but then Real Life happened and I suppose I just got out of the habit.
So, for all of you wondering, "Who is that ... being?", the answer is: "An old lurker girl, who is back to lurk some more".
Hopefully, chocolate, fun, and assassinations will also be included. -

I'm not actually sure if I was around when you were, but anyway ... have a hairy regex. Be sure to give it regular haircuts.

As you are just returning, here, have some of my Bleepka supply. -

Also, just curious, what fandoms are you interested in? I'm wondering if the trend of Pokemon and Doctor Who fans has ended or if it's still going on. XD -

*deep breath*
Major:
Books: Alexandre Dumas, Narnia, the Penderwicks, Jane Eyre, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Jane Austen, the Hunger Games, Tolkien (though I'm not NEARLY nutty enough to even come near the general fan standard), and oh so many, many, many more though goodness knows I haven't really read that much lately
Movies: Bourne trilogy, Pride & Prejudice, NOT the 3 musketeers, ugh
TV: the Mentalist, NCIS
Minor: they're in the hundreds. -

A marvelous blend of good writing and disturbing concepts. Well, at least for the first two books. The third wasn't quite so good.
Oh, and you're welcome. :D -
Indeed. by

The second felt like a giant rush of too many shockers and status-quo changers all at once. And then a giant tragedy, and no redemption, really. Kids.

But it had a very creative death trap by Hunger Games, you must admit. The most dangerous clock in existence.

There's a point where I just step back from the reviewing side and enjoy myself thoroughly. I can do that with some books; Catching Fire was one of them.

Sometimes it is easier to just stop analyzing a book and just take it on its own terms. The problem comes when I end up STUCK in analyze mode, which does happen to me now and again.

Sometimes that's the problem with ff.net. You automatically have this "review" function built into your system, and to REALLY enjoy something, it just kind of has to be turned off.
I find that my taste in everything- music, books, movies, fan fiction- is neither good nor bad, because I truly like a lot of good, classy stuff and I truly like a lot of dumb, thoughtless, 'vulgar" stuff.
But the point is to enjoy yourself. As long as I'm guiltlessly enjoying myself and it's not full of gratuitous ick, I just do as I like. -
