Hi there! Have a bunny that can decapitate people!
Two people in one day. Fun!
I found out about the PPC a year or two ago, but I just found the actual Wiki, along with any stories that weren't TOS or Dafydd, about four days ago.
I'm an anime fan and gamer. Fandoms include Dwarf Fortress, Starcraft, Warcraft, Shin Megami Tensei, and Fire Emblem.
That's it.
... Now with three times the fun!
Welcome to the PPC man!
Here, have some Arthur Honegger for the road: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKXiYIiVrbc
Another who expresses interest in this series. This pleases me.
Here, have a Pure Water. It will raise your resistance... but not to badfics, unfortunately.
Have some cookies. They're yummy.
They were also definitely not mixed in a bowl used to trap diseased rats... Nope, totally not.
I think.
Let me check.
Welcome to the madhouse!
Have this random jewel-encrusted key. I have no idea what it opens, but if you ever find yourself dropped into the Resident Evil continuum I'm sure you'll find something...
Yeah, I wouldn't doubt it. There have been much stranger things that open doors in that continuum.
Welcome to the Board! Here, have some chocolate, won't you?
Greetings, new friend! Have a Zerg rush!
Hello and welcome to the forum! As a welcome gift, have three Famous Fangirl Trading Card booster packs (ten cards to a pack).
Hi there! Have a bunny that can decapitate people!
Hi! Have some fudge!
Welcome to PPC, CruentusDeus! Take this Bleepnerary, this drink will heal and remove the damages that you might have in reading badfics.
Here, have an artifact steel pick!
Welcome to the very odd club, and have some Bleepolate truffles while you're at it.
I have a ROM of Fire Emblem 6 somewhere, but I never did actually play it; I kept on crying and restarting any time someone died.
I don't actually play it, because I don't do strategy games (I keep meaning to try one some day), but nonetheless: Zerg Rush kekekekekekekekekeke? :)
Welcome to the PPC, good sir/ma'am/thing in front of a monitor! Have an invisible car!
Oh man, another Starcraft fan! What's your favourite race? I'm a Terran.
Zerg, right now.
In all honesty, I don't really like the zerg playstyle. Too much focus on constant pressure and unit production in my opinion. I prefer to cower behind bunkers, missile turrets and siege tanks and just wait for my opponent to dash him/herself against my defenses before launching a counterattack. Also, mass Marine + Stim counters everything, hehe.
Protoss is fun, but you have virtually no map control in the early game, which can prove fatal.
Yeah. My only real counter to turtling and mass Marine is stealth. Burrow moving is interesting with backup Muta harass.
I agree on the Protoss. They're strong if they can make it to late-game. I did see a Mothership rush once, though. That hurt.
...I'm still in practice league (and getting my rear end handed to me) but from what I've seen, a good BB is something even a fully walled in Terran will have trouble defending against. Zerg can easily follow up with Roach play should the Bust fail and their econ is still going strong. I've been told that siege tank/raven is a good anti-burrow combo, though.
Also, can you believe that Blizzard is offing the Mothership and Carrier for HotS? I'll miss the Carrier for sure. As one Youtube comment goes: RIP Carrier. Noble warrior, father of eight.
Siege Tanks break apart Banelings pretty easily, actually AoE one-shotting them in siege mode, helped by the fact that it takes 7-9 Banelings to kill one.
Siege Tank/Raven is a great anti-burrow combo if the burrowers don't have flying support. Ravens are made of tinfoil, and neither can attack air.
And yeah, that's strange. The Mothership I can see, it being all shiny and new in WoL, but Carriers have been in since the original Starcraft. I guess that we'll see what ends up happening when the Protoss expansion comes out.
Marines are always part of a Terran army, so having 2 Rax with Reactors pump out Marines rallied onto the Raven should keep it safe. Another Starport with reactor producing Medivacs = Detector death ball.
Then again, any Factory build will steamroll zerg, so it's just a matter of fending off early pressure until you can harass with hellion + Pre-igniter, then follow up with with whatever you feel is appropriate.
Yeah, zerg has to rush to counter a factory build. If that gets going, Thors and Siege Tanks make for reliably invincible armies and walls.
They can be pretty game-changing in situations like this. There was one live stream I was watching where a 3-base zerg managed to take down a 5-base protoss with an Infestor build. Infestors NP'd the Colossi and reduced the Protoss ball to ashes. Most amazing/scariest thing I've ever seen.
Yeah, they're terrifying if they're allowed to NP any of the end game units, because NP doesn't have a maximum duration, and nobody expects their units to attack them. Plus they can move and spew marines while burrowed.
Speaking of burrowing, have you ever seen baneling landmines?
Yes.

"Banelings" by HuskyStarcraft & KurtHugoSchneider.
That was amazing. I scorn anyone who plays solo-banelings, because it doesn't work, but that is going to be stuck in my head for days.
Thank you, Good Sir.
Meet Pylo the Pylon.
