It is a battle that has long torn the nerd community apart. Which is better? Well, here is a video that should put an end to the debate.

I'm not even a Star Trek fan, and I still love that guy. He is a wonderful, wonderful human being.
"We have vampires that sparkle, and mope and... go to high school."
I died. My Trekkie mother loved this, too. Though, there is nothing inherently wrong with going to high school. Remember, Kim Possible goes to high school, too!
The idea of immortal vampires going to high school, though . . . surely they have better things they could be doing with eternity? I mean, I know it's supposed to be part of the Cullens' cover or something, but couldn't they have just been home-schooled? O.o

I dunno, the only thing I ever really had a problem with in Twilight was Bella.
I've only seen the first couple of movies, but all the background stuff is kinda cool. It's the leads who are annoying. I think Edward is just as bad as Bella, myself.

He has that whole uncontrollable bloodlust thing, so he has a prerogative to be creepy and have issues. I can't really forgive Bella for the whole "my boyfriend left me so I'm going to repeatedly put myself in danger just so I can imagine I'm hearing his voice" thing.
If Bella were something resembling normal and viewed Edward's creepy stalker stuff as being creepy stalker stuff, then he'd be showed up as the creepy stalker (sorry, I can't think of any alternative descriptions that wouldn't get me a warning) that he is. However, since she's subscribing to the whole 'stalking is twu wub and being a brainless sap that only exists for this one man is how one should be' view, she's supporting Edward's actions, and thus reinforces the idea in the minds of a lot of the more young and impressionable fans that his actions are all right- after all, he's a protagonist and Bella didn't really object, did she?
Anyway, just wanted to say these last things- 1, if you took her love for Edward out of her character, Bella would have so little substance that she'd dry up and float away, and 2, yeah, he's got uncontrollable bloodlust, but Rosalie and Emmett and Alice did, too, and they were a lot more normal than him. Edward's a self-pitying creep and Bella's an emotionally abusive git.
I honestly don't know where I was going with all of this. I think all the things I couldn't phrase properly earlier got together and decided to turn themselves into a Twilight rant.
What bothers me is how his creepiness is portrayed. Edward is, by all means, a strange creepy stalker. Not a romantic perfect dude for someone's twu wub.
Is that because SMeyer thinks he's hot and has done her best to portray him as such, quite a few Twilight fans have followed her lead and now think that stalking and such is hot because it's 'true love'. My reaction to this can't be posted here, but you get my point.
Now I have the urge to go write a short Twilight oneshot in which the Cullens were homeschooled. *shakes fist* I have homework to do, blammit! I can't deal with more plotbunnies!
Takei does something more awesome. I am not sure how this is possible. But it is.
And by awesome I mean AWESOME. And kinda true.

If it wasn't 3 AM here, I would be ROFLOLing.
That was amazing, really made my entire day!
Thank you!!
It's always good to see something fun like this after writing a final paper. Thanks!
for me to love George Takei more than I already did. Yet, here we are. Thank you so much for sharing this!

It was the cutest thing I have ever seen.

And suddenly, halfway through the video, Twilight. Most unexpected twist of the century.
