Stumbled across the wiki, and I'm so very glad to find all of y'all. I've read/written fanfic for years and have had so many issues with all of these things! I'm so glad you guys not only understand my pure angst over things (like the mechanics and speshul eyes) that I couldn't find before!
I plan on being on the boards a lot, so if I could sign the Constitution and go through the trials to join, I would muchly enjoy this.
Um, about me, I'm 18, from Texas, favorite fandoms are Doctor Who, Buffy, Dr. Horrible's, Harry Potter, etc. :D If anyone has a tumblr, link me~ I'd love to get to know y'all well. :)
I've heard you can grow the most amazing sunflowers there - but anyway, welcome! I don't have a tumblr account or anything, can you recommend it? I tend to start and abandon things which is a terrible habit of mine, but it'd be nice to have a place to connect with people, maybe. Well met and warm wishes!
Sunflowers are definitely aplenty here, but I prefer daisies and our wonderful state flower, the bluebonnet. They grow on the sides of highways and usually take up huge patches of grass and are so gorgeous.
Tumblr is FANTASTIC but slow at first until you start following a bunch of people, track a few tags, and gain a few followers. If you make one, feel free to follow me at one-man-bukkake.tumblr.com and I'll follow you back and show you the ropes :D
Please note the rules of the board as far as content goes. We try to give note for stuff that isn't family friendly/SFW/can get anyone with tracked/limited/censored internet access in trouble.

It's an honest mistake. Call the PPC the heir of a tradition started by younger people (The PPC on whole has actually gotten 'older' on average since its establishment) but not many places assume that kids or those with policed connections are lurking around. As long as you bear it in mind in the future, no harm done at all.
Suggestion: If you want to link that in the future (say, on the wiki, elsewhere on the board, on the IRC chat, etc.), use tinyurl to change how it's displayed. And of course, if it's NSFW, mark NSWF. :)

You're perpetuating incorrect facts.
While the PPC as a whole has become older on average since it was established, that has to do with the fact that the members who have been here for a long period of time are aging.
And on the second mark, many places do assume that there are policed connections or otherwise that people are using, and usually mark NSFW content as being such or make it clear what the general rating of the forum is itself- whether the board is NSFW in and of itself or does not allow the content at all.
I was mostly working off the fact that the early members were 13-16, and now we average 16-21 despite a fairly high turnover rate. The only 13-year-olds I've knowingly encountered around here recently is my own younger sister. So really, I think it might be both ways. Just 'We all are getting older' sort of discounts the fact that the people joining certainly don't seem 13-14 years old.
But hey, you've been here longer than me. I defer to you.
