I casually mentioned that I'd MSTed a fic, and a user I don't know snarked about "constantly bringing PPC mission fics over here". It's the same one who called me stupid a few weeks ago for suggesting that it's okay to say that not all women are more intelligent than all men. Anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this beyond ignoring her?
I'm kind of wondering... Because I used to hang around at ffr, myself; and then they started flaming me for absolutely nothing, calling me a homophobe when there was no good reason to do it. Some of you may remember that. I mentioned that I thought it was a bad idea to write a canonically straight character as gay without looking into how his life would be different; and how important I thought it was to keep character in slash fics in-character, instead of turning them into Generic Gay Guys(tm). And somehow they thought that made me a homophobe. No, I don't know why, either. But yeah, that's what made me finally decide to leave.
I don't know why you're still hanging out there, with the way they insist you've got to agree with whatever their party line is--that you've got to reject only some kinds of bad writing, and not others. It's like some kind of high-school-girl in-group over there.
... and the difficult ones at least leave me alone when the topic has nothing to do with their pet causes. I like talking about funny things I see in fics, and I don't want to let a couple of annoying people stop me from doing something I like to do.
If she doesn't have any reason to comment aside from deliberately antagonizing you, that's probably exactly what she's trying to do. Don't let her. She'll probably get bored and go away.
~Neshomeh, saying what everyone else already said, but with a nifty Internet idiom.
"If it's frustrating to you to not respond, imagine how frustrated they must be to not get a response." Less snappy than "Don't feed the trolls", but wise words, I feel.
She is part of a strange subset of feminists (as opposed to those who just want equality for all) that redefine what prejudice and discrimination mean and has clearly labelled you as some kind on enemy. My only advice is full on ignoring her and I mean not even responding to the arguments people post in your favour just acts as if she isn't there.
... because while I don't entirely agree with her views, she has the right to express them. But this post didn't, and it was behind a cut, so evidently she's following me around waiting for me to say something she can complain about.
Its not your opinion on anything that she is posting about any more, you disagreed with her and now she sees you as a bad person. She isn't trying to defend her viewpoint she is trying to fight against the bad nasty meanie. I on the other hand find all your arguments to be well written, thought out and make no real logical mess ups.
Not that you don't already. But I can't think of anything sillier than a person flocking to a really good piece of work and ranting and raving about something that really speaks for itself.

This person is obviously never going to like you, or anything you do, no matter what. Don't take it personally, and just keep doing what you want to do.
Dunno what her problem is - we don't agree on aspects of feminism, but the post this time didn't have a damn thing to do with feminism, and since I don't know this woman from a hole in the ground I don't know why she even bothered to look at the post if she hates me so much.
