Some time ago I considered what it would be like if the Internet was a Victorian concept.
Lily has recently mentioned the idea of AU PPC Boards.
a + b + c = The Board for the Appreciation of the TCDA, where many erudite souls discuss their affection for the Forces of Literature Conservation.

And for bonus points, with the exceptions of Lacksidacksical (my 'generic newbie' from previous discussions) and KinemaFantastik, everyone on there is (loosely!) based on a Boarder... how many can you spot?

Which reminds me I had a plan to write a mission for the Organisation... Also I spotted Phobos (Deimos) and... I think that's it.
I almost want to see an Electropunk fic, though I fear that many metalevels might cause our internets to escape again.
Also I didn't spot myself on there, but then again I might have not clicked on enough bits (and I haven't been on the Board in a while, sadly). I wonder how firemagic would even translate - combustionwitchcraft, perhaps?(KarrinBlue could probably be something like HekateAzure) -

For our very own Aikaterine has toiled day and night to render the complete manuscript of her electropunk TCDA - or 'PPC', as it is termed - report, featuring bizarre analogues of our own beloved founders, the great Janet and Acacia. And about the names, I'm pretty sure I am not there too.
Besides, what would Sergio Turbo become? Serafino De Bollitore? Serafino is an Italian name that fell out of use and now feels outdated, and "bollitore" is the Italian term for boiler, a core component of steam engines, with the vestigial preposition "de" before it. ("De" is roughly an equivalent of "of", and is a retail of the formal naming scheme "Serafino of [the] Bollitore [house/family]") -

Very entertaining, although I must admit to being slightly disappointed that it isn't another actual TCDA story - which is what I'd been expecting from the subject line you used. However, this was still good fun to read.

Although it did take me several seconds to understand what a 'flawlit' was.
Also, I'm now very tempted to either change my screenname to Eos'Flame, which sounds very nice, or else to write something set in that Board AU (which is more likely to happen).
Also, lovely use of threads.
Electropunk TCDA. ELECTROPUNK TCDA. That is wonderful and amazing.
Who's Professor Challenger? I feel like I should know, considering that Eos'Flame has just written a report set in his world, but I have no idea.

I mean more if someone posted a serious reply to a serious questions, and my point is completely moot, isn't it? I think I just tend to find these anonymous posts after the writer has identified themselves or been identified.
I also just misspelled that as 'indentified'. I wonder what that would look like?

In the list of Actions in which I am Forbidden to Undertake at the TCDA, there is an item about the Great Detective deducing the true nature of the Citadel.
Is this a Mass Effect reference or was that meant to be some other Citadel? -

Eos'Flame = DawnFire - Eos is the Greek goddess of the the dawn, and flame = fire.
Daisy Snowbound = Lily Winterwood - Flower first name, winter/snow. Also a liking for the works of "the Great Detective".
O'Ershadowed Eagle = you, hS, but that was mostly because of "Davillo and Serenity". Otherwise, I'm not sure how it fits.
Aikaterine = Karen - this took some thought, but Katherine is the short, Anglicized form of Aikaterina, and Karen is further a shortened form of Katherine.
Deimos = Phobos - Simple mythology reference. Also the two moons of Mars.
Psyche = Neshomeh - Nesh has stated that her name means soul, and Psyche means soul in Greek. Also, "Psyche" is in charge of a reference tome, and Nesh does a lot of the wiki organization.
Great Auk = Tawaki - The response to the newbie thread involved a "First Dotterel" - aside from the phrasing, a quick search on "dotterel" revealed it to be a bird in the plover family.
SlyWitch = VixenMage - took some thought, but now that I see it it seems obvious.
Unknown Graphologist = Nameless Admin
I'm confused on the identity of A, though. PPCers usually have complicated, creative names.
This made me want to read the TCDA, and while I have difficulty understanding some of the AU terminology and don't know some of these agents' prime counterparts, I find the imitation of Victorian writing really accurate and the stories entertaining and clever.
I confess, I've never been a fan of the Victorian era. Too...proper, and the female fashions have never appealed. But against my prior judgments, I do like the TCDA, and may try to write in it some time. -

Only one mistake - Karen may well be a short form of Katherine, but if you run through Greek > French > Irish > English, you get a different derived name...
(Huine = 'shade', Soron = 'Eagle'. It's a direct translation from the Quenya)
And Lily's right that 'A' is Araeph. I like to think she's got some long, complicated name that she can't be bothered to write out.
As to female fashions - I agree. But dress sense in the TCDA tends to be more, ah, creative. (See image)

Ah, now I know where your username comes from.
After careful thought, I will say that my AU username is "Athene of Baker Street". My username can be simplified to "[strong female character I admire] of [canonical location]". Both Greek Mythology and Sherlock Holmes would be popular during the Victorian era, and like my current username, you can imagine the character visiting the location. According to the Percy Jackson series, famous historical figures were children of various gods - Sherlock Holmes being a son of Athena would not be too far fetched.
Gods, now I want to write a crossover of Percy Jackson and BBC Sherlock. -
