Thanks for the thanks (and have a cookie, by the way), but you should be careful with opening new threads, as each of them pushes an old one into digital oblivion.

Yay! Thank you, people who gave me stuff! I feel so welcome. I just read about the Big sibling thing, and if anyone wants to be my Big Sib I'll give you a virtual panda-pig cookie. (no pandas or pigs were harmed in the making of the cookie)
You didn't need to make an entirely new topic just to thank us. You see, every new topic pushes another one off of the front page of the Boards and into general Internet obscurity. That's why we ask that you approach new topics carefully. In this case, you probably could have put the response under your original introduction thread.
Still, you're a newbie! It's understandable that you might not know these things! If you ever have questions or concerns or whatever, I'd be happy to help. My name is still up on the Big Sibling wiki list.

... the threads being pushed off are from the 25th September - that's a week ago. No one's reading them any more. We can probably stop being so zealous about this, unless the Board picks up.

More of a "Hey, don't get into this habit" message. You're probably right, we could stop poking every single new post with it. But every now and then, we do get those avalanches of double-posts because every other person was never asked not to. I think that's more what we're trying to avoid.
