What's wrong with liking stories about talking animals?
I kind of doubt that the "I put on an animal costume and shag people" type are even a significant minority, let alone the average... -

I have difficulty imagining that whether people dress up in animal costumes would bother a total stranger that much, given that even if they do choose to do that, it's not harming anyone else. Either way, this kid really needs either something else to do with his time or parental intervention.
