Though that's a bit of a disappointment in some respects. But we must follow the *golden light and choir and thingy* wiki.

This badfic is horrendous. Its name? Aurelia, the protector and golden light. The lack of capital letters was intentional on my part. Classic Mary Sue. This is in the movieverse, and obviously the two main characters are Legolas and Aurelia, daughter of Sauron, which is almost impossible. Oh, and her mom? Eragon's mom. Yes, that Eragon, the Canon Stu. Bad grammar and spelling, this is perfect for a mission. :)
The daughter of Sauron and Eragon's mom? *snickers* I love classic 'Sues! Can I have a link? I'd love to claim this for my first mission, if no one else is. :D
Though I'll definitely have to brush up on the movie-verse, quite a bit. *Pulls out Extended addition DVD set and portable DVD player* YAY! There goes my life for the entire next week!
Sorry mate; me and Caddy have already been working on a co-write with this one since around late March, but haven't released it because due to chronology problems. I've been trying to move to another style and some problems with getting a beta reader.
If there's anything I could do to help you with something else though, give me a shout.
Just as well, though. I'm a long way off from having permission. c:
Can't wait to see it however! I'm sure you guys did a great job. I mean, Sauron and Eragon's mom? Wow. Hope you guys can fix whatever editing problems it has soon.
Thanks, DML. I'll remember that. ^_^
Me and DML have had it claimed for a month or so actually. We even have the mission done and ready to go, just needs some editing done.
I have to say, the bit where the dragon's taunting Aurelia is my favorite part. The rest of it is slop. It's been flamed, too, so no need to run around with matches OR buckets of water.
I think a Boarder told the author we were going to assassinate Aurelia. Am I allowed to do this? Because if I am, there's a lot waiting list of people I should be telling...*funfun*
The short answer: No.
Long answer: It is considered something akin to a personal attack on the author (as opposed to his/her story) and is thus frowned upon. At least I think that is the reason. Oh, also, it attracts whiners and flamers and we don't want them.
The wiki *golden light shines from above and a hallelujah choir is heard* has this to say on the subject:
'Giving the author links to the mocking we do is frowned upon by both the PPC and GAFF. There have, unfortunately, been people who have taken it upon themselves to try to make us look like flamers. Anyone can link to our site, so the presence of that link does not make the linker automatically one of us.
Most likely, the "reviewer" in question is not a PPCer at all, but rather a vengeful fangirl trying to stir up authors and start a flame-war. Keep in mind while you're reading the reviews that we are a loose confederation, not a closed secret society with singular thoughts.'
Though that's a bit of a disappointment in some respects. But we must follow the *golden light and choir and thingy* wiki.
In the first mission I did, the author seemed to just go "Muahahaha! Dance, little monkeys, dance!" with all the characters. Not a trace of canon love. And she had awful grammar, even though her profile said, that she was studying English at college and was hoping to become an English teacher.
So I can totally understand wanting to link the author and tell him/her not just that their story sucks, but excactly how much and in what ways. ^^
But like it also says on the golden and shiny and singing wiki (although I can't find the excact quote so maybe it was somewhere else) it is not nice to make some 13 year-old cry herself to sleep, because we ripped her Legomance to shreds.
I've been ripped once or twice, because i have a singular talent for putting my foot in my mouth, so I don't really want to be harsh on some little girl. But then again...
Yeah, I guess I'll stick to the wiki. *insert special effects here*
Or maybe I'll just go read The Fifth Elephant for the four hundredth time.
