Elizabeth Sladen, the lady who played Sarah Jane in Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures, passed away this morning due to cancer. She was 63.

I read about this yesterday, but couldn't think of anything to say. In a way, I still can't. The woman exuded class, spirit, and intelligence--in real life, though she played a character with all those traits too. She was the kind of person who deserves to be mourned by millions, and she will be.
...but everyone else basically said it all already.
Rest in peace, Liz. You'll never be forgotten.
She will be sorely missed, onstage and off.
Two of his companions have joined the Third Doctor.
(Yes, I'm counting the Brigadier, he was far too important a part of the show to skip him.)
My condolances to her relatives. Thank you, Elizabeth Sladen, for your contributions to society, both on stage and off.
I never was a big DW fan, but I've seen a few episodes of both series, so I know "Sarah Jane". I don't know much about Elizabeth Sladen, though, so I'll step back a bit and let the fans/friends/family grieve. Sorry for your loss, everyone.
After hearing it on Twitter last night, I woke up and thought it was all a bad dream.
Farewell Sarah Jane. Thank you for being the character who really got me watching Doctor Who. You will be sorely missed.

…after Nicholas (Bret Vyon, Brigadier Sir Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, and the Brigade Leader) Courtney.
*moment of silence*
I mixed up the Subject and Author lines. Sorry, folks.
