While I was doing some research for a project about The Lord of the Rings and the problems of creating film adaptations, I was surprised to see our organization mentioned by name in one of the research materials I was using! If anyone's bored enough to find it, the book is called "Tolkien on Film: Essays on Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings" and has an Amazon page right here:
http://www.amazon.com/Tolkien-Film-Essays-Jacksons-Rings/dp/1887726098
Look on page 286, in part of the essay called "Make Mine 'Movieverse': How the Tolkien Fan Fiction Community Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Peter Jackson".
Any thoughts on this?
It doesn't really say much about us except for saying that we're "Tolkien fanfiction writers" and credits us with the creation of the terms "movieverse" and "bookverse". Nothing about our actuall goals, though. Oh well- still says a lot that we got mentioned in a scholarly paper.
:D
It would be nice to know what was actually said about us. I, for one, have no intention of buying this book to read page 286. I cannot find it online anywhere, so if you could enlighten us, it would be most appreciated.
