Hi! Have some fudge!
(Rapefic for the Marvel Universe? I just peeked, rapefic is something I avoid.)
Hello! I've been lurking for a while and would like to introduce myself. I haven't ever written any fic, but have read both canon and fic for LoTR, Discworld, and a couple of more obscure books/series.
Also, I bring Badfic! (I think. I'm not particularly familiar with the fandom, but the contents were squicky. NSFW, rapefic).
So, ah... hi?
Here, have some food and water! They're very fresh!
It's good to have you with us. Just out of curiosity, I have to inquire as to which 'more obscure' series you've picked up; I'm always hoping to run into people who've found the same 'obscure' books I have.
Anyway, have a purple dragonfly, a shining star for steering tall ships by, a missing suit of antique armor, and a used treasure map written by a five-year-old.
Your user is amazing. So welcome, unnecessary flower!
Oh, and while we're on the subject of badfic for claiming, I'm so, so sorry.
Don't feed it Sues or Stus.
Hello and welcome to the Board! Here, have some chocolate, and please enjoy your stay!
Fair winds!
Now you can throw BBQ parties!
Welcome to the board, hope you survive the experience. Have a pint of milk, in case you fancy a cup of tea.
I also enjoy your name. It is magnificent and polysyllabic and all such things.
Would you object, though, if I occasionally called you SR? Or Rhodie? Or... well, it won't actually matter unless I need to call you by name in a quick manner, as in via chat or whatnot, but... I like nicknames.
(Any particular reason for the Rhododendron? I am also far too curious for my own good.)
So, in short, hi, welcome, nice to meet you, hope to see you around.
I don't mind nicknames, in the most part. Although I'd prefer Rhodie instead of SR, because I might skim over the latter and not have it register. (Sorry.)
(The rhododendron part came about because I do, in fact, have a flower name, but was never comfortable using it on the internet. And I like rhododendrons.)
You got it. :D
I also enjoy rhododendrons. Huzzah, instant thing-in-common.
What sorts of things do you tend to enjoy reading/writing?
Unfortunately, any left in my care tend to wither and die.
I tend to enjoy reading sci-fi/fantasy most, but will read nearly anything put in front of me, barring already having something I want to read more (except for things like, say, romance novels). Sadly, my writing skills are on pretty much the same level as my plant-growing skills -- abysmal. But I'm hoping to improve as I go along. ;)
That is a shame. At least they can be lovely to look at? ...From afar?
(I've only succeeded growing cacti, myself. Potted cacti.)
Lessee. Hmm... books... read the Kris Longknife series at all? I don't run into a lot of people who have, oddly, but it's a science-fiction-with-military series I actually enjoy, which makes it a rarity, which makes me want to share. A lot. Possibly too much.
I am certain your writing skills will do naught but improve if you hang around here long enough. You'll probably start getting better in self-defense. :P
(I've never tried cacti, but that's more because I tend to hurt myself on the ones that my aunt grows whenever I go to her house, and I don't want to be constantly covered in scratches!)
I haven't read that series, no. As a matter of fact, this is the first time I've ever heard of it. Who's the author?
I guess it depends on the kind of cactus? Of the three currently chilling in my kitchen, one likes to stab me, one is only mildly grumpy, and the third actually has spikes soft enough that it's, uh, pettable.
The author in question is Mike Shepherd. The first book is called Mutineer, if you're interested.
That they just don't like me. Oh well. And I've never heard of that author before, but will add that to my list of authors to check out. Thanks!
Have some chocolate!
Welcome, new friend! Have an unnecessary watering can.
Nesh is right. Your name is fantastic.
Also, have a bar of chocolate.
Your pen name is...
so awesome.
High five.
*poke*
Welcome!

Have a tower! Now you are a very important man, or woman, or flower, as the case may be.
