Blacksad is a European detective noir comic series, written by two Spanish writers but released in French first, about the cases of a detective named John Blacksad. The comic is drawn with anthropomorphic animal characters (Blacksad himself being a tuxedo cat, and his sidekick Weekly a weasel) but very much not for children - it has as much sex and violence as you'd expect from something of the same genre done with humans. Despite the "lol furries" stigma it's beautifully done; thrilling, sad, and funny in equal measures, and featuring some excellent watercolour artwork.
I am required to love it because it has a weasel. D'awww, weasels ^_^ Sadly, it's almost impossible to find Anglophones who've heard of it, and I don't speak enough French or Spanish to investigate any other languages' fandom communities.
