I can only hope that the movie is good, and that my childhood does not get stamped into the dust too badly by badfic.
My first comic books were some old copies of Tintin stories... What was I, 7...?
...and the PPC needs to be ready for the inevitable badfic.
1. There's the matter of Tintin and Alph-Art. Hergé died before he could complete it; what there is of the story has been published (it ends on a cliffhanger as the Big Bad, likely Rastapopoulos, means to have him killed). Is it canon or not?
2. Someone will have to endure Tintin in the Congo, which has... issues... and which Hergé himself came to loathe, but which was never made discontinuity.
I adored Tintin when I was younger. It's been years, but maybe I should dig those old books out again, in preparation, since I know someone's going to write horrible, horrible action/adventure fic. Of course, in that case the canon has so many bad action tropes that it would be hard to say what fan authors can get away with.
