This just strengthens my opinion that a goodfic could very well have been a canon material or installment and nobody would have complained about it.
In the case of AU, my guideline is that if it had been released INSTEAD of the canon, the SAME FANS or the SAME FANDOM would have sprung up.

This is AU as it replaces an early Season 3 episode, and in that canon Jossed a popular bit of fanon in a recent episode. It doesn't take away from the quality of this fic, though. It had me on pins and needles for most of the fic.

...Simply wonderful. This is what fanfic, to me, is about. Making one little tweak to the canon environment or giving the characters a new problem to face, and have them interact and deal with it. And this appears to be an excellent example of it.
Glad to see someone in the Pit still has their talent about them, and that their's still some good fic circulating in addition to some of the AWFUL Tiva het I've been reading. *sigh*
