I've gotta say, though, Hogwarts being in Harry's head...I'm pretty sure I've seen that done in badfic, but now I really want to see it done heartbreakingly well in the hands of a good author.

That actually approximates to what I knew about Harry Potter from friends and such before actually reading it.

And on the other note, I swear blind that the Sues in my old writing are something near TOS-caliber. I found an old notebook of mine the other day and nearly wept. Any one of the characters would literally check off any charge list you cared to name. Embarrassing, especially if you consider how proud I was of those stories when I was eight.

Now I'm kind of curious about what the relationship between Nick Carroway and Jay Gatsby /was/ like.

And that writing but is so true... Even some stuff I did less than a year ago makes me shudder, and I'm sure what I'm writing now will look terribly bad in a short while.

Still, it's fun.
