Hi, everyone!

I've been reading mission reports for a while, and decided to go ahead and sign up here.

My fan-type interests include tabletop RPG (D&D up to version 3.5, Champions/Hero System up to 6th Edition), LOTR, Mercedes Lackey (Valdemar series, Elemental Masters series, Tales of the 500 Kingdoms, Dragon Jousters), classic Dr Who (can't afford the extra cable tiers to get the new stuff, and official disclaimer: I can't stand Colin Baker's Doctor), David Eddings (Belgariad/Mallorean), earlier Star Trek, earlier Pern (I have not read any of the books written by McCaffrey's son), and the Deryni novels. I'm also something of a history buff, and go out of my way to catch new episodes of MythBusters.

I've never written fanfic, though I've been tempted a few times. This is probably just as well -- given the way discussion was going when a former D&D group was talking about crossing our PCs over with ST:TNG, had we gone ahead with that one it would be over in "Killed Badfic" on the wiki.

I think some of my game-related articles are up on the web someplace, but that's a different type of writing. Before I try for a PPC mission, I really should write a fanfic or two for the experience.

Here you have a tube of canon character's blood. I think it may kill Sues/Stus, but I'm not sure. I'll try to convince the DMSER to start tests. Meanwhile don't use it.

Have an Adamantium knife! It is about the same size and weight as a combat knife, and it is much more durable. It works well for executing Sue/Stu's, and for skinning CAF's. It also makes cuttig birthday cake a breeze!

Have a folding car. It becomes a rather heavy case when not in use. Careful, it has a nasty habit of unfolding itself at the wrong time.

I've been told the Elenium/Tamuli is a good read, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I'm trying to get a couple game scenarios put together for convention season, so it'll probably be a few months before I can get a chance to hunt them down and read them.

My first Doctor was Jon Pertwee, so he's the sentimental favorite. I have to admit, though, some of his scripts weren't that great. If we leave sentiment out of the equation, Tom Baker and Sylvester McCoy are neck-and-neck for favorite Doctor, with Patrick Troughton trying to push his way in there. I've only seen a few William Hartnell episodes, and while I like Peter Davison as an actor the writers had too much trouble coming up with a Doctor-persona for him.

Personally, I prefer William Hartnell or Patrick Troughton - I don't know why, I just love 'em. I haven't seen enough Colin Baker or Sylvester McCoy to judge them. The others I can take or leave.
