Was I the only one who felt a hate for the characters behind this one?
After getting the last one done I had enough enthusiasm to whip up yet another mission with Wade and Mazarun!
An Auror Annihilated - see a 'most talented Auror of the century' Sue die!
There is something I was wondering about. Did it ever give a reason in the badfic for all the focus on Snape?
I liked the bits with the lemon drops--that Mazuran didn't know they'd be so sour, and then him sticking them to Mrs. Norris. I always thought that cat was creepy, too.
That Sue was downright horrible. I'm glad you killed her. She was like an anti-teacher.
It turns out the Sue was going to be 'shipped with Snape, after some mandatory hostile UST and a tense argument in a closet that I decided I really couldn't stand to wait for.
Mazarun's never had anything with lemon flavour before, poor subterranean boy that he is.
I don't have the Harry Potter canon at my fingertips, and I could still probably get closer to in-character than that Suethor.
I would high-five Mazarun for letting Hermione join in the fun, but I don't know if that's a drow thing ;) .
Thanks, but I'm afraid that might get a bit messy, their not being that big on team-spirit type gestures. :p
drow don't really trust people to get close that much, and from what I know of Mazarun he'd probably just give you a blank stare and wonder what on earth you wanted him to do. :P But I agree, I was rather pleased Rilwen thought of adding that bit in. Hermione is such an abused character. :(
Was I the only one who felt a hate for the characters behind this one?
I was betaing, and as Rilwen and I worked, the Sue was described as several variations of bitch. So... yeah, I was pretty convinced that somebody hates the characters. Or had a need to upstage them desperately, but couldn't think of amy other way than mindraping and humiliating them all.
Man, that was a really annoying Sue. And there's another Suethor who didn't read the books well enough.
Hat of disguise - those things are awesome!
That was a particularly obnoxious Sue. I'm not sure I've seen one that actually did run the gamut of all the canon characters and prove herself 'superior' to every single one.
I suppose you could claim that her going through everyone's most deeply-held secrets and announcing them was similar to Lupin making everyone face a boggart, thus displaying their worst fears to the class, but that at least had educational purpose. This just comes across as bullying; there's no need at all for her to do it.
So overall, jolly well done. This one deserved what she got.
Yeah, my point exactly. Lupin showed them how to laugh at what they feared. He helped them. The Sue merely dragged up humiliating details to 'prove' she could read their minds.
And the way she targeted Hermione was just vicious; more like a schoolyard rival than a teacher who is supposed to have some professionalism. There's very good reason for Maz deciding Hermione ought to get a bit of revenge for that deliberate cruelty.
