Ooh! A grill so I can BBQ! KTHXBYE!
Thanks for the welcome... May all your mini-Balrogs be roasted, toasted or curly-fried.

Thanks for the welcome... May all your mini-Balrogs be roasted, toasted or curly-fried.
As I said above, hello. I am but one writer in a mass, one noob in a storm of Regulars. ...So in short, I'm kinda new.
I am a personal fan of such animes as Yu-Gi-Oh, Gurren Lagann, NGE, and I'm expanding my interests so I'm open to most anything.
I don't think I know anybody, so a little help would be appreciated, if'in ya don't mind. I found my way here by stumbling across it on TV Tropes, read a few of the early PPC works, and so forth. One Vampire/Yu-Gi-Oh slashfic in the unclaimed section later, here I am.
I've read the code of conduct, done a little research, learned just how bad fanfiction can be -and then hastily fixed up my own works- and now I think I'm ready to join.
Fair warning, though I tend to brush off some changes to canon in fics... There is a line. You cross it, I kinda lose it. Same with gratuitous use of Vampires as plot devices. Eheh... I'll try not to leave a mess.
Have some chocolate of the dark minty variety! And look, a new DVD! (I'm not going to tell you what movie; you can decide for yourself...Boarder magic makes for good gifts, eh?)

Glad you said that up front. Everyone's ideas/beliefs are allowed here (and we do indeed have a bit of everyhthing), just so long as you're prepared to explain yourself. Vehemently. Possibly multiple times and in multiple ways.
Don't worry, though- this community strives mostly for 3 things:
1) Being opposite of Suethors
2) Being snarky, sarcastic
3) Having fun
And I daresay you can deal with at least one of those! :)
-cough-numberthree-cough-
Hey, new movie! I shall proceed to watch and enjoy it privately, before posting a scathing review pointing out flaws I didn't care about!
Thanks for the welcome! I'll remember those rules... Nothing says "Flame Me" worse then not working with others expectations, and screaming while you do it.
But as to the flaming thing... flames aren't acceptable around here, so no worries.
Great to hear, Aeidhryn-senpai! Now to create original, yet realistic characters that fit within established canon and still interest the reader without upstaging the canon characters.
What's a senpai?
Japanese Honorific, like Sensei. Meant for those of higher status, while Kohai is the same thing. ...I read too much manga.
Cool. I've never been able to get it straight.
*rant*
Be wary of putting the honorifics where they don't belong. The one out of two friends I have that read manga has put them where they don't belong in fics. I have to poke it out of her.
Imagine how awful it sounds to have Legolas say, "Yes, Aragorn-san." Terrible. You'll see. i'm a scout, shall we say, so I get maximum exposure.
*end rant*
Have a compensatory pan of white/dark chocolate peppermint bark? Tis the season and all that, y'know.
Ah! Chocolate bark! Yum!
I shall respond with a life-sized candy cane, perfect for dancing and twirling with.
If you want, below is a quick and basic guide to casual honorifics. If you don't want or need it, sorry to clutter.
-San is essentially Ms or Mr. Formal and polite in company you don't know.
-Sama is much closer, showing a deep respect for the person you're giving the honorific to.
-Kun is a male denotation, commonly among friends. Typically used by guys, for guys.
-Chan is associated with females, again commonly used between friends or by guys interested in the female in question. Shows cuteness.
Lastly, no honorific from someone who uses honorifics can be the most important. It is a very intimate thing, meant only to be used between people who have truly earned trust. It can be very rewarding to hear it from someone who earned this privillage, but from others it can be an insult.
And there you have it. If someone's going to use honorifics, they shouldn't have an excuse with improper usage. I do consider you far above me in status on the site, hence my usage of -Senpai with you, Aeidhryn-sempai. Still, doesn't mean I can't knock it off if it annoys you.
*waltz with a candy-cane*
Ooh, compliment...shiny. I don't care if you call me anything, really. So long as it's interesting. I'd rather an Orcish curse than the commonplace "nice girl." Do you know, I think "nice girl" might be even more of an insult... it's like when someone asks you whether you like their sister and you have to say, "she's a nice girl" because you didn't make the effort to know her at all. You know?
*end rant*
I'm not above you or below you. I'm possibly very south north east or west... left or right. Most likely closer to insanity.
But thanks for the mini-guide, it makes some things much clearer.
You're welcome. Still, like many things with Japan, it's a matter of respect. Better to refer to someone with respect typically then intimacy, as far as I can tell. I know what you mean about the "nice girl" thing, but I'd rather treat you with respect rather than possibly insult you. Far as I can tell, you deserve that at the very least.
Regardless of what position you're in compared to me.
Wise. Lack of respect for others is not tolerated around here. So, yeah. I mean... don't be scared of me, anyways. I'm probably more scared of you and all the others more than the others put together are of each other. Hmm... did that sentence structure make sense? Probably not. But we all make miniature Sam Vimes- you know, "bloody raging homicidal maniacs" for agents half the time, so...
Welcome to the Board! Here, have some chocolate, and enjoy your stay!
Thank you, Angel-san! *Munches on chocolate, enjoying his stay*
Have a generic book of your choice. Nice to meet a Yu-gi-oh fan. I read a bit of it, and I'm starting to check out more.
Ooh! Generic books are fun! Oh, the non-descript joy...
The original manga was pretty good, so I stuck through the whole series. Then came R, GX, 5D's... and I'm hooked. The Anime was kind of an afterthought.
I've read some of the manga and seen the original series, as well as part of the Japanese season zero. I started reading the fanfic after finding a pretty good Harry Potter crosover.
Have a folding car. It folds itself inbto a rather heavy case when not needed. (And, if someone is asking, is from the Back to the Future animated series. No, this one doesn't travel in time, sorry.) Be careful, it has a faulty folding mechanism so it can unfold itself randomly.
Sergio... You tellin' me you made a FOLDING CAR... out of a DeLorian?
Don't feed it Sues or Stus.
Wow... my actual favorite animal...
Now I must learn to fight crime as it hunts prey... I shall become CHEETAH-MAN!
Have a pet cat. You may name her whatever you wish. She comes with a limited edition, free-range apple. Oh yes. Worship the apple.
Ooh! Kitty!
But I already have a perfectly good Papaya to worship!
The Apple only demands a blood sacrifice every year, it's not that hard...
Glad to have you here. ^_^ If you've looked at our handy guidelines, then you'll know you need about a month of activity on the Board before asking for Permission, so's you can write your own missions. In the meantime, glad to have you here~
Have a bag of pebbles and a Random Shiny Object. They come in handy for throwing at annoying people and distracting the easily distractable.
Ooh! Random Shiny! *Pulls out Object* My preciousssss.... Aw, it's just shiny.
And a bag of pebbles? I shall fashion them into Go pieces! Or maybe marbles... or maybe pebbles. Pebbles are fun.
Here's a grill. It runs on charcoal, mini-Balrogs, and/or flames. You can keep it on the ship, if you like.
Ooh! A grill so I can BBQ! KTHXBYE!
Thanks for the welcome... May all your mini-Balrogs be roasted, toasted or curly-fried.
Welcome, new friend!
Let me hook you up with the Deluxe Vampire Resistance Kit and Hot Plate. You've got your freeze dried garlic, three-sizes of stakes, as well as an pair of iron hammers, which can be crossed to form a crucifix if stakes are unavailable, whittling tools for making new stakes, and a specialized flashlight that recreates sunlight's effects in the undead (good against certain zombies, too!), plus a year's supply of batteries for same. There's also a hot plate.
T'anks, my friend. I shall keep the tools in my Emergency Kit for (Undead) Supernatural Creatures attack. I'll bring the hot plate camping.
Here you have a bag of sour candies and a random Gainax ending. It seems to be the one from Evangelion, so keep it away from angels or the world will end.
Ah... I was hoping for a Nadia ending...
Yay! Candies!
Fair winds!
Now you can throw BBQs!
Thank you! I'll be sure to put it to good use for my "Vertically-Empowered Pirates of the Carribean" roleplay.
