I hadn't thought of it like that. If nobody wants it, then that is what I'll do. It comes up later in the story anyway.

There is a story that I want very, very badly to do a mission on, but right at the end of it, it says one of the canons is pregnant. My only female agent is considerably less than matronly, and I'm not ready right now to deal with the arc that being pregnant would set off.
Does anyone have agents that might be willing to take on a pregnancy? It would be a near full length pregnancy. I am pretty sure the character was less than three months along.
The canon parents are Samantha Carter and Jonas Quinn of Stargate SG-1. Sam is blonde with blue eyes, and Jonas has light brown hair and brown eyes, both are pale complected, tall, and exceptionally brilliant. Jonas' is definitely genetically based.
I'm putting out there in advance that there will be a new recruit up for adoption.
His name, right now, is David. He is seventeen, but looks younger. He had very little physical description, so that is pretty open.
Lots of continua have ways to bring a baby to term without a woman involved. I'm thinking specifically here of Brave New World's assembly line method, the Vorkosigan Saga's uterine replicators, or the Matrix's method of growing people. Most sci-fi continua have similar arrangements but those three are the ones I can think of that are the best described.
I wonder if HQ has a crew that can go into badfic and retrieve useful technology before the regular agents kill it?
the Embryo Extraction Kit, sometimes affectionately known as the debugger, and often used with a bottle to store the infant in until it can be taken to Medical. Though mostly used in MPregs, I'm sure it can be used in cases of just plain wanting-to-save-a-Sue's-baby as well.
And yes, there is a division in DoSAT - Testing and Application - specifically dedicated to finding and stealing retrieving canon tech from badfic. They would probably appreciate being invited along to such things.
If nothing else, then Cali is really good with kids. I keep meaning to write some mini-interludes with him and the kids he already has. Of course, that he already has four signed into the Nursery is part of why I'm trying to get this one adopted.
Medical probably does have access to one or more of those technologies, do they take the normal nine months to work? I've got to go read the episode where Pads gets pregnant. I've read about the birth, but not the beginning.
Then I'd be more than happy to offer my Tok'ra agent as said parent, regardless of how the child is born.
I just realized how totally appropriate and awesome it would be for a Tok'ra agent to raise a child of SG-1 characters.
If you for sure want the baby, then it is yours. Does your Tok'ra happen to know any medicine? Would you be interested in a collaboration on this one?
Well, I hadn't made any concrete decisions about the various special knowledges of the character, but yeah, she probably would have some medical experience under her belt. Hmm...
That brings up a very interesting idea. She's in Bad Slash, and medical knowledge would be highly useful in that department, especially with all of the craziness that goes on in there.
So I guess it's a broad yes: I'm interested in a collaboration and my Tok'ra knows medicine. I'll have to draft up her character page on the Wiki, but that won't take long. How soon do you want to do the collaboration?
It could be as soon as right now, or pretty much whenever, except Tuesdays late morning/early afternoon, and Thursdays early afternoon.
How far have you got in the actual mission? Also, my schedule is pretty open as well; I work nights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, but I'm free at all other times save for late mornings/ early afternoons on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Why don't you e-mail me with the stuff you've got so far and the link to the story, and I'll look it over once I come home tonight after work.
* Intervene in the story before the pregnancy is mentioned and just ignore it. (I've stepped into several fics right before events or procedures took place I did not want to deal with (too much research required, for instance), and once plainly ignored a Sue was pregnant at all. As far as the mission was concerned, that never happened.)
* Argue that when the canon resets itself it also resets Sam's womb status.
I hadn't thought of it like that. If nobody wants it, then that is what I'll do. It comes up later in the story anyway.
I would think about it, but since my only currently available female character a) hasn't really been introduced yet and b) is a Tok'ra, I'm not sure how it'd work out.
I would guess that a Tok'ra would work a lot like a Goa'uld. Remember when Sha're was pregnant, her symbiote (whose name I am forgetting right now) had to go dormant to prevent loss of the pregnancy. I can't imagine it would be much fun to have to put half of a character into hibernation for six or seven months right after you get the character.
