Hm... The main character might be Stu-ish, but... huh, his romance with Prince Peasley is actually not horribly written.

Well, I can certainly see some of the red flags for badfic. There are plenty of walls of text, and there doesn't seem to be much that connects it thematically to the Mario canon. Also, there's a lack of thematic cohesion, and the same characters tend to have the same dialogue, and the proceedings do go a little too slowly.

BUT, it's not really badfic. I say that, 'cause the central relationship between the two main characters isn't horribly written (even if it is a bit too sappy), and also because the prose isn't horrible. It's got some bad things in it, but it's more "it needs another draft and it'll be good" bad and less "OMG this is badfic" bad.
