Hello,

I've been aware of the PPC for a while, via OFUM and the HFA, and then a few days ago I randomly thought of it again and have been obsessing over it since. I am fond of making impulsive internet "commitments" that I don't actually keep up. We'll see how well this lasts (I am hoping well). For reference, of my six Firefox windows open, three are PPC-related things, either directly (this one has PPC wiki pages and two Mary Sue litmus tests, another one has The Fantastic Saga of SNAOL and a terrible Animorphs fanfic, and the third is bad Dark is Rising Sequence fanfic). Normally I don't keep this much stuff open, but I'm on dialup for the month, so I'm just not closing tabs. >.> OH WELL.

Anyway, here I am. I've never actually gotten around to WRITING fanfic, except kind of sort of a flash fiction story written with the Percy Jackson and the Olympians books in mind. Mostly the closest I get to writing fanfic is reading someone else's story and thinking "I wish I'd written that". When I actually write it's by and large original fiction.

I don't tend to get righteously angry at bad fanfic, more...confused. Especially by the reviews. Do people actually think these are good? Or that they make any sense whatsoever? Call me stupid, or something, but I don't see it. If in chapter 2 of your story literally nothing even remotely relevant to the plot happens, and you yourself acknowledge it, why did you bother to write it? It boggles the mind. And you created a mini while you were at it. Nice going!

Um. I like books. I like some movies. I like not too many TV shows. My favorite books include the Dark is Rising sequence, Animorphs, the Graveyard Book, anything by David Levithan, anything by Diana Wynne Jones, things by Tamora Pierce, Ender's Game, the Ender's Shadow books, the Young Wizards books (and the Feline Wizardry books), the Riddle-Master trilogy, and No Great Mischief. To name a very few. And to not name some that I feel like I must be the only person who's read. I'm still hoping someday I will meet someone who read the Star Trek: The Next Generation: Starfleet Academy books. I also enjoy role-playing games, although the last time I have been able to play one with any consistency was a number of years ago. Seventh grade, perhaps. My current RPG obsessions are Young Gods of Old Egypt and the Marvel Universe Role-Playing Game, but I am also a fan of both 3.5 and 4E D&D and a number of the other 24-hour RPGs. Also Darksword Adventures, which I am dying to play.

I could list movies and TV shows, too, but I will not, as I think I have already rambled enough at you all and it r laet. Hence, to bed! Which is to say, to lie on my bed and skim through "Killed Badfic" on the wiki. >.
Respectfully yours,
Lleu Llaw Gyffes
