In fandoms that have two canons there occasionally are characters that appear in one canon, but not in the other.

I'll work here with A-Team, because that's where I encountered the problem. In the movie there is a character named Charissa Sosa (wikipedia and Imdb seem to disagree on how many S's). She most definitely is not a character from the TV show.

Now, what to do when she some how shows up in TV verse based fic, and the author has misspells her name? Would that create a mini or an OC?

(I'm in favour of a movie-verse mini, but mainly because I haven't got one, and minis are instant Rule of funny).

Personally, I try to consider as many 'verses as possible to be part of the same canon - that is, if it's canonical somewhere, to treat it as such everywhere where there isn't a contradiction. So I'd go with a normal mini.

or at least, an impossibility. In the movie she had a position in the military that I doubt was available to women thirty years earlier. Fic implies she had the same position.
