The New MM's going for a more journalistic approach, which means there's more truths and less speculation. It's kinda inspired by three years of a TIME Magazine subscription, but that's a different story.
I enjoyed the Tabloid MM a lot, for what it's worth. It was entertaining. I'm hoping to preserve a bit of that in the Gossip section of this one, so yeah.
Well, all right, I agree if we're talking about the graphic design and layout work (but then again, the latter is due to it being a PDF rather than HTML...).
But the content? I don't think you can even compare the two. Your Multiverse Monitor was a tabloid, and as a tabloid it worked brilliantly - it was filled with filthy lies from cover to cover. :P This version is a magazine, and again, as a magazine it works brilliantly - it's pretty and informative. But it doesn't have the off-the-wall gossip-rag vibe yours did - because it's not supposed to. Saying one is better is like comparing apples and submarines.

...what program did you use to design that? Photoshop, or something else? I always have trouble finding the right application for that kind of thing.
For the pictures I used Photoshop, and then added text in InDesign.
Basically I have no clue how to properly manipulate InDesign's scanty photomanipulation tools, so I just do Photoshop and create a background image, place it into InDesign, and slap text all over it there. It's a bit tedious, but Photoshop won't give you spiffy lines to show where to line up your text, and InDesign is bad about actually editing images on there (imo, anyway. they need a new colour picker).

I'm really impressed with the layout of it - it seemed like a real magazine. And, of course, the articles. So serious, yet, being PPC, so funny. This balance of magazine format and PPC craziness is so awesome. I kind of feel bad that I didn't help, but GDocs was being annoying (read: I knew nothing, and didn't want to touch it).
So yeah. *applause*

That was wonderful! Can't wait for the next issue, once I get my agents in line I might like to contribute at some point. The only thing was I had a horrible time figuring out how to read the "Simply Magical" article. It appears to read in Manga fashion (columns read right to left) on the first page, and switch to American fashion (columns read left to right) on the second page. And I'm not sure that the first column on the second page is next after the first column on the first page, but it could also come after the second column on the first page. I appear to be the only one that had this problem, so maybe it's just me, but I thought I would point it out... ^^; The article does make sense no matter what order the middle three columns (seeing as there are two that either have a definite beginning or end place for the article) are read in, so it's not a huge issue...

Great, now I don't know what to do anymore. I suppose I'll wait until I've finished part 4, and then see if there are even any Blackout threads still on the first page. If there are, I'll hijack one; if not, I'll post a new one. /logic

Although, first of all, one thing: I found a mini! Say hello to Hercules Poirot! Lovely little fellow; no idea what his form is, but he seems quite nice, very smart. No doubt he follows in the footsteps of his canon character, the great detective, M. Hercule Poirot. Quite a lovely mini; I may keep him, if I can find out what he's supposed to look like (amorphous minis are a bit disconcerting to look at).
Second...ok, I brought this on myself. I'm retconning something about the Reader. Unfortunately, this is currently spoilers, so I can't actually clarify until I've reached the reveal in the Blackout Interlude, but suffice it to say that I'll probably contribute an article dealing with the subject to the next MM issue, if that's alright.
Other than that...so. Much. Fun. I love this XD
Also: Castiel wandered by the Cryptomusic Archives? I shall make a note of that.

Although, actually, there's so much goodfic that this little guy might be the first recorded Poirot mini! Seriously, I've been looking for badfic, and it keeps being goodfic. It's kind of annoying, in a wonderful sort of way.
(Hercules says--somehow--that it's quite all right, and he doesn't mind having gained sentience; he would like a form, though. To that end, he's encouraging me on my search for Hercule Poirot badfic.)
...you know, I'm really becoming rather fond of this mini. I do hope I can find a badfic so we can find out what he looks like...

I like the fact that you've managed to separate it from the Tabloid version - the gossip is clearly defined as gossip, rather than just being, well, everything. Even your 'Flower Conspiracy' article managed to draw in all the viewpoints.
Of course, now we have to split the Wiki page...
(Any idea when the next edition's coming out? I don't recommend monthly, it turned into a full-time job for Starwind)

I did try to go for a more journalistic angle, although tidbits of gossip pop in and out of other articles as well. And um... I had this joke with my Christianne several years ago of a PPC Daily (Actually Monthly) magazine, so it would probably be more along the lines of Multiverse Monitor Monthly (actually bi-monthly) or something.
Of course, a monthly magazine becomes much easier to handle when you've got other people helping, so there's that.
