Because I'd like you to attend also.
My dad (who is also coming along- but he won't be at the Gathering) is also looking at good dates for him.
Since Helen wouldn't be able to attend on a weeked and the only possible dates are the 2 through 8, would Monday or Tuesday work better for everyone?

August 4th was thrown out as a date. So, does this date work for everyone?
And while I'm done at 2, transit times from the island will make it nigh impossible.
While I hate to demand that everything be rearranged for my convenience, I would very much like to be able to attend. ^^; The fourth and the sixth are I believe the only dates in the target frame that I work; are any of the others viable? ...maybe a weekend?

So whatever you guys decide, although I should point out that I won't actually -arrive- in Seattle until the third, so Tuesday's probably better.

And where exactly at the Seattle Center? If memory serves, it is not particularly small place.
A cursory Google search proves you to be correct, that place is massive. How about the fountain?
I'll have to get up Glod-awfully early to catch the train and/or bus, but yeah, I'll be there.
Unless it is utterly gargantuan, I'm sure we'll find each other. Just look for the strangest possible (and slowly growing) crowd!

I'm pretty much free at the moment for any date.
I hope that we can reach a consensus soon. I have a chance for super saver airline tickets and I don't want to run out of time to get them. *sheepish grin*
I don't work Monday (2) Tuesday (3) or Wednesday (4), but other than that I'm working.
We're meeting in Seattle Center, right? I'll have to remember to grab a pocket-map at some point.
Of course, lots of things could change between now and then, but as far as I know, I'll be able to attend.
