It's the Glorious 25th of May, which means three important anniversaries of note:
- Lilac Day, in the Discworld continuum, celebrating The People's Republic of Treacle Mine Road, truth, justice, reasonably-priced love, and, of course, hard-boiled eggs.
- Towel Day, for H2G2 fans. Do you have your towel with you?
- The anniversary of the release of Star Wars Episode IV.
Wow, so much geek celebration in one day.

I have no flowers, so I had to settle for lilac-coloured nail polish. I reckon it counts. I do, however, know where my towels are.

Just reread Night Watch day before yesterday, actually. I would love to say it was specifically in honour of the day, but it really wasn't. It was because Night Watch is my favourite of the great Pratchett's books.
I second the, it gives such hope in humanity. A character who can kill and choses not to . . . tat is all t orare. Plus, Prachett is *such* an excellent writer.
I think I'll have a boiled egg for breakfast, with the yolk runny. -

That's still my favorite Discworld novel ever. I remember... I'd just become utterly disillusioned with revolutionaries and anarchists over a nasty incident involving lies, treachery, and stealing from The Man, who happened to be someone I knew and liked. Wandered into the library, cursing life and philosophy and humanity in general, and wound up picking up that book. Aw, you beat me to the punch. Very well. A Glorious Twenty-Fifth of May to you, my fellow PPCers! Let us remember those who fought for Truth, Justice, Freedom, Reasonably Priced Love, and a Hard-Boiled Egg.
