RL notice; also looking for beta(s) by

So, um, I don't have an Internet connection at home right now. And probably won't for a couple of weeks, maybe more, depending on how things go. I don't plan to vanish entirely, as there are a couple of places nearby where I can gank a free connection (which is what I'm doing now), but my activity will definitely be curtailed for the duration.
That said, I'm calling on my fellow Permission Givers to step up. hS I know is having computer troubles, and I know Araeph is around--but Dann, Laburnum? You guys are out there, aren't you? I'd appreciate it if you guys would help keep an eye on that FAQ thread down the Board, not to mention the History article that it's spawned already.
THAT said, if it happens that we need/want more PGs around, I nominate Sedri and Trojie. Yes, I know you have said you don't want it. I don't care. In fact, that's partly why I think you'd be good choices. {= p But it's up to the Board as a whole to decide what to do with this, if anything.
On a completely different note, I hope to need a beta-reader or two for a Derik-and-Earwig mission pretty soon. Knowledge of canon is not particularly necessary, but it's set in a Super Smash Brothers fic in which the OC is a huge Gary-Stu, and he drags Harry Potter along for the ride. It's pretty short by my standards, since very little actually happens in the fic. Any takers?

I second the nominations of Sedri and Trojie.

I'm trying to figure out where the crossover would happen, and I'm coming up short. Unless... *woo-woo dream transition*
Mario dodged, the thunderbolt striking the ground where he had stood just a moment ago. The castle roof-top was slippery, the tiles crunching slightly beneath his plumber's boots. In the distance, the trees waved in the wind.
"Pii-pika!" cursed Pikachu, zipping over Mario with a horizontal quick-attack.
werp-Werp-WERP went Mario as he taunted the little electric mouse. He jumped, colliding with Pikachu as he scattered coins everywhere.
The window beneath the fighting pair snapped open. "If you can't keep it down, you'll have to fight elsewhere," said a very irritated Professor McGonagall. "You are distracting my Transfiguration class!"
WERP-Werp-werp went Mario, returning to his usual size. Pikachu's ears went down as they ceased their battle and shuffled toward the stairs.
"I-a told-a you we should have-a fought in-a Corneria," said Mario.
*woo woo dream transition*
...On second thought, I'd read that.

And true, I never asked for it, but if necessary, I accept. Thanks, Neshomeh. Good luck getting your Internet connection back.

I'll probably miss a great deal, but I can help. I've only ever played the original game and melee, though, so I might not know as much as would be desired.

I've been lurking a lot, sorry. Life continues to get crazier, and all that.
And yes, I definitely second Sedri and Trojie for PGs. -

You know I'm happy to beta your stuff, if you want to throw it my way.
And I'll second Trojie and Sedri nominations. Even though I know Trojie will flail at the responsibility. -

I'm pretty familiar with Smash Brothers, and Nintendo stuff in general. I know I'm new here, but if no one else takes you up, I'd be willing to read it over for you.

'Cause I know that's how Pads will probably set it up anyway. I've invited you as an editor, so you should have no problem accessing it.
Thanks, both!

Small note: if you're betaing for someone on Gdocs, they'll notice any notes you add without being told. Especially if you're the last person to edit, because it tells you who made the most recent changes.
Oh, working in a different colour to their text helps. Sometimes my documents end up as a technicolour marvel before it's ready to post. -

I've only used GDocs once before, so I didn't really remember how it worked.
