However, bear in mind that you're less likely to get Permission without also being active on the Board. It's not enough to announce yourself, vanish, and then pop up and ask Permission. We're a relatively close community, so we like to know who we're dealing with. {= )

Is it okay for me to claim a badfic even though I don't yet have permission?
I'm going to use the completed mission as evidence to prove that I deserve permission.
