I find a bottle of water, some ibuprofen, and a ham sandwich always help. (I doubt the Hair of the Dog principle works on regular headaches)

I've heard putting a rubber band around your head works for some causes, because of blood vessels constricting, or something. Actually, someone I knew swore by it. Sometimes a hot shower can help, if it's a sinus thing, just because the steam helps soothe that kind of thing-- same with a bath, which is also relaxing. Or just drinking a glass of water or having something to eat-- I've had headaches brought on by mild dehydration or fatigue, or overhunger, before. If all else fails, a nap often gets rid of headaches, too.
It tastes like puree of hell, but it works.
Only it takes more of it to work, since it isn't concentrated. ... I can't remember if the raw salicylic acid in willow bark is more or less likely than aspirin to cause stomach irritation. Meh. Either way, pretty much the same thing.
If you're interested in an herbal remedy, though, you might look into skullcap (I've also seen it spelled scullcap). It's associated with easing nervous tension, so if that's the underlying cause of the headache, it might help.
Just remember, using herbs is just like using any medication: they all have potential side effects, and they might not work for you the same as they do for other people. You also have to do your homework and look into drug interactions.

(Hair of the dog works on any random pain, in my experience.)
First, get a book, and find a comfortable place to read it. After a while, you'll start to get bored. When that happens, just put the book down and try to fall asleep. When you wake up, the headache should be gone!
That book would have to be, like, Twilight, or something. For me, at least.
Ibuprofen + sleep usually does it for me.
Always trust in the power of pharmaceuticals.
Take things like that too much though and they lose their effectiveness. Trust me. I used to take paracetamol/ibuprofen/aspirin (whatever I found first) as soon as I felt a headache coming on. Eventually I was having to take a double dose to get any effect. For that reason, I don't think pharmaceuticals should be the first resort for a headache.
Fair point. Although I don't get headaches often, so I haven't built up a tolerance for ibuprofen, I guess.
Usually helps me. Granted, most of my headaches are dehydration headaches, but still...
