It's nice to meet you! I am, let us say, quite over-whelmed. :)

It's nice to meet you! I am, let us say, quite over-whelmed. :)
Umm... Hello?
I've, uh, decided to finish HFA. And write fic again. I have an offering and a request, and I thought this might be the good place to look.
Offering:
New HFA chapter: The Last Canon Shift. Please don't kill me?
Request:
I need a beta-reader for a FullMetal Alchemist fanfic. It's complete, but I've never written in that fandom before and I'd like some eyes on it before I post. It's Roy/Riza, manga-based, probably PG-13. Anyone up for that?
-MB
I can't believe I missed something like this. Meir Brin, returning and updating HFA? Winsauce. You don't know me, but I have read both fics and loved them. Well, the first HFA and the parts of HFA 2 that were there, anyway.
The FMA story is finished:
Enjoy?
-MB
congrats. man.. I can't wait to see what finally happens. thanks.
Or if you consider that animal cruelty, have some Anti-Lustin Warscythes instead! You won't regret it.
Damn it, 'Sela. Not everyone makes a car/big cat distinction between Jaguar/jaguar.
...it'll be stealing.
*chuckles*
Well, if it's a jaguar I don't know what I'll do with it, but if it's a car-jaguar, I suppose Arthur Weasley will enjoy taking it apart.
*Brings out a car-jaguar from hammerspace.*
This is great! I'm one of the Order of the Sphinx. ^^
I'm also in the process of re-reading the Harry Potter books right now--just about to get onto Half-Blood Prince, actually. ^^
I wish I knew the FMA manga, but I've only seen the anime. At least it was fan-subbed, not the Cartoon Network dub. {= P I look forward to the story, though.
It's great to see you around again. \o/
~Neshomeh
Neshomeh, I'm glad you're still around because yours is usually the name I go to when I need a default Order of the Sphinx person to show up (usually to kick Fender). Since last I wrote HFA I have misplaced all of my notes, so until I find them you'll probably appear in the next chapter. *is absent-minded and old*
-MB
At least not literally. Poking and thwapping upside the head, though, absolutely. *g*
Good luck with the notes. If you're like me, they're probably in a pile of other stuff that's been stuffed into a random folder in an effort to clear up the workspace. Unless it's on the computer. I'm a lot more organized on the computer for some reason.
~Neshomeh, still a fan of the giant knitting needles for mending plotholes.
And speaking as someone who also has an OFU hanging over her head (three years and only ten chapters published? Bad me!) it's so awesome to see you coming back and starting it up again - gives us all hope!
There are people I remember around! This makes me feel less old. Huzzah.
Yeah, I really hate to leave things unfinished, so I figure if I can do right by HFA, I might then be motivated to explore some other fandoms without thinking, "you should really finish HFA".
... but new fandoms are all shiny and seductive and tempting ..
Anyway, I'll be cheering you on :D
IT'S ALIVE!!!!
*/dramatics*
Hey! Am I in the new chapter? *runs over to read!*
Some of us are still here, not many though, almost a compleat turnover of members here.
Leto
It has been a while... good to see you're still around. :)
Haven't read it just yet, but good to see you drop by - I lurk mostly these days. I'm looking forward to the last book!
Unfortunately my knowlege of FMA manga is pitiful at best. Good luck finding a beta!
*Wanders off to read*
I remember you! Good to see some of the oldbies are still around.
*scratches head* Yeah, I think I might have to go find a more anime-centric board to beg for a beta-reader. Still, it's good to be back!
It's still on my favourites list; I saw the update yesterday, blinked, collected my jaw, and then went and re-read the entire story. Thank you so MUCH!
Unfortunately, I don't know FullMetal Alchemist, so I can't help you. But still, thank you :)
A reviewer likened the story to a zombie repeatedly lurching out of its grave. I enjoy the analogy. Hopefully this new electric cattle prod I bought will keep it out of the grave for a while. :)
(I actually had to re-read the entire story, too. It has been a looooooooong time).
As for the analogy... perhaps we can arrange to have that grave filled with dirt. ;)
OMGC! It's Meir Brin! Yay! Have a drink! HFA! W00t! *falls over*
*takes drink, adds milk and sugar. Oh, was that beer? Now it's tea*
It's nice to meet you! I am, let us say, quite over-whelmed. :)
Excellent news, HFA is brilliant!
Sorry I can't help with beta-ing though.
Another HFA chapter? That's awesome! I've read the first HFA and loved it (*bows to you*), but I haven't quite gotten around to reading the other one. I will read it, though, when I get a chance. (I can't help with the beta thing, sorry. I don't read manga that much.)
Hello!
*is embarrassed* You're probably wise to put off on HFA II until it's mostly done. One of the things I feel guilty about is making folks wait so long between updates.
Also a Mark I K-9!
Thanks!
(I feel really old now; didn't we used to hit people with bats when the arrived? *is old*)
Is anyone else still around from the old days?
Oh, woooow. I seriously loved HFA. *bowage*
It's fantastic to be able to say hi to you. :D
Thanks so much! It's nice to come out of my cave and be greeted with such enthusiasm. ^_^
*scurries off to read*
I'd offer to beta, but I'm not really up-to-date on mangaverse right now. Alas, I am one of those heathens who has only watched the anime. One who needs to stop checking her favourite sub groups homepage every ten minutes for this week's offering, at that.
Yeah, I got into the series this past May and now I'm writing fic. I'm excited to watch Brotherhood, but I want to wait until it's fully out and dubbed so I can enjoy it in one go.
I know that I can't. It really angers me when they use a terrible voice for an awsome character.
Hikaru no Go Example: Japanese voice for Fugiwara no Sai is cool. The English voice makes him sound prissy. I cried.
My two yen.
Leto
The FMA dub is pretty good. It's one of the few that I can actually stand. The Brotherhood dub cast is mostly the same as the one for the first anime, so it should be just as good.
I don't watch a super-lot of anime, so I feel pretty good picking and choosing the dubs that are good. And I'm excited that the dubcast is coming back for Brotherhood, they were good the first time around.
I'm watching the subs every week, and I love it. I'd wait for the dub, a) I'm extremely impatient, b) I like having a week to wait between eps to think and come up with theories and c) I don't know how long it'll take to come over to Britain, and as far as I'm aware, there's no longer any channel that airs anime (unless you count the half-hour ads on Nick and the butchery that is the Jetix version of Naruto WTF on taking out all the weapons and blood?!).
It always amazes me when people think that they can make a show where the main characters fight with edged weapons "bloodless". If the character has a blade, then there is going to be blood somewhere. Censoring that = ridiculous.
Yeah, I might cave and watch Brotherhood sub'd, but I'm going to try to hold out. It looks like the Funimation crew is going to get a hold of it, so that's something that promises to be good.
They put out official subs every week, I think, or they were. Only available if you live in America though, which resulted in many irritated people outside of the States and thus no decrease in fansubbing of the series. There was even a proper, subbed DVD of the first three eps shown at ComicCon this year, which was awesome.
*wanders off to LJ comm*
Yeah, the majority of the dub cast has already been announced.
Oh, this was the channel messing around and editing the show on top of what the American censors had already done to it. They pretty much made Naruto unwatchable for me, even if I had been able to overlook the voice acting. And they weren't fighting with edged weapons, because there were no edged weapons, or even blunt weapons for that matter, in sight. Stupid censors. It wasn't like they were putting it on in the middle of the day. It was after the watershed.
