I'm curious. How does one go about creating an OFU these days? Last I heard, Miss Cam had given up on PPC, OFUs and everything else. It's just I'm giving serious thought to creating a Mass Effect/Knights of the Old Republic/everything else BioWare OFU and I'm trying to coax a walking Elder Scrolls encyclopedia to create one for that fandom.
I presume reading OFUM is a must? I've got that covered, one of the others who might help with Elder Scrolls has too, though I need to force the encyclopaedia to read it.
I figure KOTOR would be covered by the SW OFU, there was one once apparently, and I'd been contemplating finding suitable help to start a new one. Just given that KOTOR lies within SWcanon, unlike the rest. ;)
Okay, that leaves Mass Effect, Baldur's Gate (an OFU already), Dragon Age (not yet released), Neverwinter Nights (not yet played) and Jade Empire (not yet played) for the BioWare OFU. Bugger?
I know we've talked about how to deal with new OFUs before, but I can't remember what exactly was determined except that it's separate from the PPC and therefore doesn't require PPC Permission. Reading OFUM first would make sense, considering that's what got it started, and I'd also recommend HFA, since that's the only other one I know of that got finished (and it's really good).
As to the writing, I guess I'd just say make sure you have a plan for it and see that it's thoroughly beta'd.
