A walk through (part of) HQ - link to Youtube video
This is not a finished video. Actually, I'd like your help to expand it. I found (or made, or designated) sections of HQ in Minecraft and the Real World - can you do the same?
What this video needs is lots of people to make or find a chunk of HQ in their favourite game - or anywhere else - and record a short film running through it (or flying the camera through it as if you were running). Preferably, the video wouldn't show the player as a recognisable person (but something like Dwarf Fortress with its top-down smiley-faces is okay), but in some cases this might be unavoidable, so I leave it to your discretion. The best soundtrack would be just the sound of footsteps.
Yes, you can do the same universes I've already done (Real World and Minecraft); you can also do different ones. Obviously builder games (The Sims, Lego...) are likely the easiest - but maybe there's a tangle of grey corridors in World of Warcraft? An office that clearly belongs to a Flower in Shoot'n'Bang IV (okay, I made that one up...)? If you can find it - film it! It doesn't have to be a long film.
(I'm actually wondering if the very first level of the original Tomb Raider might be good...)
Please to be emailing videos to my email address above so I can tack them onto the end of this one. And no, you don't need Permission.

I can do that! I might be able to set up a public PPC server, where we can all help build it!
I'd love to play on that!
I shall try to contribute something - GMod has plenty of environments and objects I can use (particularly for something like DoSAT).
Loved the Escher Room by the way! :}
...but the Portal 2 map maker seems more then appropriate for making halls in HQ. Sorry I can't add to this, but it looks cool no mater what.

to get to a destination. Hehe, seriously, this is awesome!
I love the amount of story-telling you do with simple motions of the camera in the Minecraft portion. "Nope, not going that way. ... What, really, this exists? ... Yep, that sure is something. ... Haven't I been here before? ... No, really, where am I?" I was laughing all the way through. ^_^
Sadly, I have too much to procrastinate over as it is, so I don't need any more excuses to play Minecraft and ignore the rest. Plus, we only have the Xbox version, and I'm not sure how we'd get a video from there to you. Alas.

I particularly liked the Escher room.
Out of interest, how long did it take you to build all that? I haven't actually got around to checking out Minecraft yet, but I really think I should. I quite like building stuff, and I've seen some very impressive projects.
I think I did it on and off over about four days, but... at a complete guess, six hours? Might have been less. The only cheating I did (other than being in Creative mode - having to actually go and collect all the blocks I needed would have taken forever) was to make the 'big empty sandstone-lined box' for the Escher Room. Because that would have been boring.
I highly recommend Minecraft. I've been playing since before the original creative game was finished (specifically, to anyone who knows these things, since just after flowers were put in), so it's.... been a while, and I'm still playing.

I could make a video of a maze of corridors in the Sims pretty easily- in fact, I could probably just use one of the more complex death traps that I already made. Maybe I could figure out a way to have Sims in black jackets with flash patches roaming the halls. I know it wouldn't be too difficult to download some lightsabers and other unusual weapons for them to carry...
Hm, now I'm thinking of that one level of Rune Factory with the huge living plant monster. But eh, that wouldn't work. It's full of lava.
There are probably some corridors in OFF that fit perfectly, but I'll have to check later, when I'm not in school, haha.
And the Tomb of the Unknown PPC Agent, and the Armoury, and the corridors that suddenly drop, and the TARDIS docks and the Nether portal tricks, and the Generic Surfaces and, and...
Oh, that's fantastic. I have to go and build something now. By the way, have you ever tried out a texture pack? They can make Minecraft look a whole lot nicer, especially with the 1.5.1 overhaul.
Unfortunately, I can't really participate in this project: I don't have any video capture programs on my computer or anything...
... I had a texture pack. Then they kept updating things, and I stopped using one.
(The video capture program with its logo slapped across the top of the screen is free for ten-minute-watermarked videos and seemed to work pretty well. I downloaded it just for this)

...as far as I know, Coterie, Joli, Isabella, and Painterly update fairly quickly after every patch.
I prefer Coterie for the more polished look, but Painterly lets you customize all of your stuff. You can even make the Nether look like a giant beehive if you want.
And this would have been back during the Seecret Friday Updates, when every week threw something new into the mix. Painterly took a couple of days to update, and then I had to vote an ever-lengthening period of time to re-customising the whole thing... in the end I decided it was easier just to stick with the base textures.
