Not that any of us weren't really aware that the network had been slipping- badly- for quite a while now. Still, this announcement saddens me, especially because I seriously doubt any of those new shows are going to be worth half a damn.

We need to get ahold of whoever's making these executive decisions and tell them that they're being really, really damn stupid. The whole appeal of Cartoon Network is that it always WAS cartoons, 24/7. It was the only channel on television where you could have something like that.

Now, it's just another Nickelodeon/Disney Channel.

I found the interstitial that I was referring to in my original post. Took some doing.

This is one of Cartoon Network's oldest interstitials, and was used to promo the network back when it was still young.

For almost a decade, this and other promos like it were the only place on the network where you would see anyone not made of pen and ink.

They could, be inept at acting, not that they are, should they turn out out be good, the pain might be lessened...by one percent. But knowing Sturgeon's law, I don't think it's likely.

Having real people on a network called CARTOON Network. I mean, hello! Nick was supposed to handle that. Because they weren't stupid enough to think that they could set themselves a limited artistic area with the title, or whatever it's called, and then CHANGE it.

Whyyyy, CN? I liked you. I loved you as a child. I spent many hours wasting my time, watching Loony Tunes and Grim Adventures and Kids Next Door. Pooh.

Oh gosh. B-but Cartoon Network was all about cartoons. THAT'S WHY IT'S CALLED CARTOON NETWORK, DAMN IT!

... *Takes a deep breath* Its charm was in its cartoons. People liked it with cartoons. Reality shows... on Cartoon Network?! They might as well change their name to something more suitable!

I can see why the executives might've thought that it was a good idea. But still... this is a major shock for me, since I still watch Cartoon Network.
