Unless it serves as the main plot (Doctor Who), or leads to the event/point of crisis. (DBZ "Cell" Arc)
In fact, if there is such a thing as time travel Goodfic, I'd LOVE to see it. If only for shock value.

More accurate to say, the cast get memories transplanted from future to present.
...Yeah, the basis is silly, but it was a plot bunny and I like to think it's turned out at least okay. -

"The Open Door" crossover fic. It has time travel but still ends up being pretty good. You'd probably have to read the prequel to make sense of the nice!Chaos though.
