Just a quick one here: Is it absolutely essential for a crash dummy to be used when dealing with a 1st person badfic? I'm not entirely sure and it was pointed out to me by somebody that it tends to be the done thing. So if the crash dummy is all you can use or if there's another way of getting around the problem... well, help would be appreciated in this matter, thank you.

Well, there are modified CADS for it. If nothing is used, then either one or both Agents are possessed by the Suevian spirit and act out the role of the Stu/Sue. It seems that removing said Agent from the story's plot by intervening can force the Sue into the third person, but the possession in that incident was incomplete.

hS, in his infinite wisdom, created the DOGA Canon Analysis Device: it alters tenses, offers suggestions on what to do with a Sue, and can act as a two-way radio to HQ. A very useful piece of kit, but not so easy to get hold of. My Agents only got theirs because Nat didn't pay attention to what kind of CAD she picked up when she went to get a new one.
