Otakon tends to get a bit expensive, partially because we drive back and forth every day to Baltimore. There is also the wonderful booths that just tend to draw you in and suck all the money out of your pocket.
If anyone's had their head to the ground for the last month or so, then they'd know that a small contingent of PPCers is planning to get to San Diego Comic-Con International in July 2009.
I'll be going with a group of six, half of the group being PPCers to San Diego for the 21st-28th of July.
Said group will consist of, tentatively: Me, Fynn, Jai, Ansela, Fhajad (who you do not know), and a friend of Ansela's.
We're gonna be trying for Seaworld and Comic-Con for that week- in short, this is going to be a weeklong Gathering, roughly.
So, why this random post, in February, you're probably wondering.
Well, this is to look to see if anyone else would be interested in making this a massively large Gathering.
Be forewarned, though, Comic-Con is expensive, and I'm estimating at around 700$USD for everything for that week, except traveling to San Diego and from San Diego, if go with four people in a motel room. Price estimate includes Comic-Con, day at Seaworld, renting a car (if divyed up amongst four people), food, and hostel.
It'd obviously be cheaper if you decided to cut down on the days besides the four of Comic-Con and stuff- or live off of the cheapest food you can find- but I'm rambling now.
Anyone else interested?
I had no idea. And I wish I could go, but being in New Zealand, the plane fare alone would triple my costs. And that's close to exam week. So sorry, but no. You guys have fun!
